  1. I thought/think remaindered books would get a .5 but I don't remember seeing too many graded copies. Someone had a AF 15 that had almost the top third of the cover gone which was deemed either just a part of cover missing or a botched up remaindered copy. IIRC, it received a .5. Here is a SS example I did find (not mine).
  2. Neither - both have Robin (Really I am not a Robin fan but I too would go with 45)
  3. I just now noticed there is no chest emblem on Bats on that cover. Scales to Hourglass
  4. This will be EPIC. I so fondly remember Jon's articles in CBM along with Pat Calhoun's contributions to the magazine. Always enjoyed and amazed the knowledge and when I joined here, posts he made and treated us to pictures of his fantastic collection over the years. Good luck to Jon and probably moreso to those with deep pockets who will be bidding.
  5. Great book, Gino. Love this cover and it presents very well for the grade.
  6. Thanks Paul Amazing how that bulge-master in the ad above not only slims the waist but also makes shapely, perky breasts
  7. I have been impressed (surprised may be a better word) at some the realized prices on their earlier auctions. They hold their own against the big boys even if the selection is not as robust. I only look at the GA sections and for this weekly auction, predominantly lower grade books so maybe this format is where they might move some of the lower valued items. I don't mind more auctions. If there is something I am interested in, I can bid, if not, I pass. It's like college football bowl games, I really don't care there are so many, I watch the ones I want and to be honest, I would rather see two 6-6 college teams play than pro bowling, not that there is anything wrong with that. I guess the real test is if the prices suffer and sellers stop consigning, it will determine the viability.
  8. Cool book, Jon. That Village of Vultures splash is wild and unnerving.
  9. Dango, Jack I want a copy of that Clue Comics - great cover. Homicidal, tortorous predicament to Homicidal, tortorous predicament
  10. I'm waiting until it gets to real money and not chump change before I start bidding
  11. Beat me to a new connection, Jack. My ape can wait.
  12. So are you buying then for investment purposed and not necessarily that you like/collect a character(s) or title? Not being demeaning but the answers could be very different. And without knowing your price point or there is specific era, condition, etc., it makes it difficult to offer cogent responses. You may though consider a higher valued key and work with a seller who accepts reasonable time payments. Great way to grab a good book - just don't overextend yourself.
  13. I finally took the time to refine my searches for specific GA titles to exclude photocopy. I had already excluded dvd and cd so now a search looks something like this Action Comics -photocopy -dvd -cd in GA comics using auction only results, sorted by newly listed, 200 results per page. I have excluded specific sellers from some more generic searches I do like CGC in GA comics using the same boolean logic as above but also exclude a few specific sellers (some because they are offered on the seller's website at a cheaper price a la MCS or they are sellers who continually relist at renowned high starting prices.
  14. No doubt this thread will go bye-bye so wasting a,post but how is this different from Metro or CL or MCS or others that offer grading services at least I believe those services are offered. And even buying raw from a dealer who puts a sticker on it with their grade a la Metro, do you trust or agree with that grade? Not saying CGC is always consistent or that I agree with a grade either higher or lower, but I try to buy the book and not the label. At least prior to encapsulation I can open the book and inspect and make my own determination. With all that said, not a service I would pay for.
  15. I must be behind the times - never even heard of letgo or gemr. As for CL - no selling or buying of comics but there have been several threads or posts about buying on CL, often for collections.
