  1. Vultures of the Dark to Battling Eagles of Bataan.
  2. Too odd to pass up, Bats with lipstick, colors off, no Robin logo, and just plain quirky so if all the stamps are intact/unused with none perforated then
  3. I saw short article as I have long been an admirer of hers. Not only being a female in male dominated profession/world, she was one hell of an artist. Some of the tidbits I was already aware of but some new things I did not know and it has a nice picture of her as well as some of the most celebrated pulp covers. Quick read if you're interested - 10 facts about pulp fiction’s illustrious Margaret Brundage - https://www.liveauctioneers.com/news/be-smart/10-facts-pulp-fictions-illustrious-margaret-brundage/
  4. That Betty and Steady is nice book. Great grab, wj. Aren't all those story titles on the front cover names of porn movies (not that I would know or that there is anything wrong with that ) Honestly though not a book I have seen before.
  5. Yeah when I saw it, I thought this has got to be a scam but maybe CGC did share some early prototypes. I think it is highly doubtful is real and thought I would share it here. Maybe I am proven wrong but my money is on turdiness.
  6. Thanks Blowie, I was being lazy but should have grabbed the pic along with the link. When I saw you had posted, I was expecting your prime search skills were going to point to an older thread or something about prototype slabs given as gifts.
  7. Great choices and books, Corey. Those early MLJs are just spectacular with action and colors and they other two aren't shabby either. Kind of an oxymoron - Fun Time comic title with a bound cat going to be smashed in the noggin by a mouse-driven train. Not too much fun for the cat but at least the wabbit is ready to offer medical help after he finishes laughing. Your collection is so eclectic and full of great classic covers from so many different genres.
  8. Surely this is just a used CGC case and not what is being touted? (And apologies if it is a genuine CGC prototype to the seller - I will plead ignorance if they were given as gifts.) http://www.ebay.com/itm/WARRIOR-COMICS-1-HC-Blackerby-1945-CGC-PROTOTYPE-/182452333712?hash=item2a7b01ac90:g:mLsAAOSwax5Yn8Y-
  9. He is as good inside as out - really enjoy seeing the interior art.
  10. That's interesting, RM. No doubt I saw those terms and remember the ads well. Had no idea they coined the phrases. And thanks, Jon for the two covers you mentioned. I looked at a CGC slabbed Tec' #14 and CGC doesn't note it on the label. Pic from Greg Reece's site. It may be the first worst socks cover to boot.
  11. I wouldn't mind nested quotes if they were automatically hidden by spoiler tags. Viewing a gluttony of endless repetitive quotes especially on a mobile device is a pain in the tush. I don't even look at This Week Back from CGC thread because of that.
  12. Outside of pulps and periodicals that are comics, does anyone know the earliest bondage cover? Also the earliest bondage cover that CGC has noted on a graded book (if the first has no graded copies)? I have always been curious of this for no real reason but thought I would ask the bondage experts. Perhaps a real simple answer.
  13. Shhh, Dale. I have been tracking these and want them to go under the radar so I can get more bang for my buck Great books as always.
  14. Bravo lingus Using the Chrome version and mucho better. Thanks.
  15. I hope that is not a reason and know it is most unlikely as it moves CGC to quantity over quality mentality. I have had other errors in much earlier submissions and like I said, I do not submit all that often. I realize that they grade tons of books so mistakes happen and there is error percentage is probably very low but still frustrating when it happens to you.
  16. Were you working for CGC QC when my books passed through by any chance?
  17. it's really not hard to see the error. A couple just back that was part of a larger submission. No complaints on the grades - just on which slabs they are on I don't submit a lot and this was my first in a couple of years. Normally, CGC suggests sending back on the next submission. Hopefully, not only does CGC fix the error but also the shipping/insurance costs both ways.
  18. Are there any points for last post on the soon to be old forum?
  19. I have no idea which account I have. How would I know the difference? Go to the registry - http://comics.www.collectors-society.com Login brings up your control panel and it tells you under acct info what type of acct you have if I understand what you are looking for.
  20. The only three Fights in my slaabage are by Zolne. I think the #12 should be a classic cover.
