Detective Comics 35

20 posts in this topic

Here is an awesome copy of Detective #35. There is a 2” spine split from the base of the spine up, a 21/4 split from the bottom of the top staple down. The cover is firmly attached. Interior covers are off-white/white with a tan edge as found on many DC books. Page quality is cream/off-white- very supple, absolutely no hint of deterioration. Cover colors are very deep, FC & BC are very clean. Appears 5.0/5.5. In my opinion the book has equal or greater " curb appeal" than the Crippen copy. Asking $9450.00. Time payments/offers considered. Also willing to do a partial trade for Mo Gollub Tarzan covers or select Pulp covers. You can reach me at 916-331-9203 or brian@a-1comics.com. Please call or e-mail with any questions. If you are in the area please come by the store- I am finally cleaning out the vault-everything must go!

What do you grade it Brian? 3.0?

I think he thinks it appears 5.0-5.5.

Appearing 5.0/5.5 and technically being that grade are 2 different things. The curb appeal of the book is of a nice mid grade copy, but I'd like to know Brian's opinion on the technical grade with the spine splits.

Considering the overall quality of the book I would give it a 4.0/4.5. Despite the fresh appearance you cannot overlook the splits. But, to get a book with this much appeal, near impossible at this price. Thanks for the look.Brian Peets.

Thanks Brian. I think it's priced fairly too.

I would say 3.5 - 4.0

....oh and hmhm

I think its calling your name Ronaldo :gossip:

A-1 is my LCS, Ronaldo. I'll broker a meet with Brian for you in exchange for the opportunity to read the book once it's in your hot little hands.

I've seen this book in person. Curb appeal is definitely as Brian says. Plus, his grading is spot-on.
