In all seriousness, this is disconcerting on so many levels. I can't put into words how disappointing it is to see and read about the lacksdaiscal attitude taken by this organizations spokespeople, and in addressing the questions or concerns raised by this community.

 

I'm with Burntboy, over the years I've donated to a local children's hospital. It wasn't a million comics, but I have spent a fair bit of time purchasing and personally delivering unwrapped toys and can tell you the exact person and hospital unit I delivered them to over the years.

 

In the nearly 10 years I've been here, I can't think of a topic that has stirred the kind of emotion, and I'm overcome with sadness with the thought that any organization might use the guise of a platform involving charitable good for hospitalized children for nothing more than financial gain.

The only way I could sort it out was that Comics4Kids probably wouldn't have Bert eating a child's head as his avatar.

 

 

And Comics4kids would be the one defending selling posters from films that the FBI had prosecuted as child pornography right next to auction lots, ostensibly, for the benefit of a children's charity.

 

That's a big one too.

Also I think Gemma is great. If she has any say at all the entire organization will be set up right, and the donations will be logged properly and will get to the right people they were meant to get to.

 

It actually made me happy to see her name there, she wouldn't let anything wrong happen if it were in her power to prevent it. I hope she has the power to prevent it.

If I was taking the straight and narrow with my organization after all of this...controversy, I would make it a point to clear up any past transgressions and enlist the help of this board and its members.

The last we heard from him was months ago when we were told he didn't have the donation records "handy" and would get them and get back to us.

 

That happened here and in the general discussion thread in the sales area.

 

He never came back at all. We are all still waiting for those answers and documentation.

 

He knows this discussion was left hanging. Either he can't produce the information, doesn't want to, or doesn't care enough about the perception of people he has been soliciting for donations for years.

He very well may be a swell guy. History is littered with swell guys that did really shltty things.

 

He puts his charity in order as a charitable organization and shows the people donating books that his charitable organization is actually donating comics to kids as his mission statement says, I will call him a swell guy.
