Brian48
Pretty awesome stuff. The typewriter in that second page looks way out of place without the context of the story, but it still looks great. I'm assuming this was told in flashback from a modern perspective. I only have the first trade of Dark Horse's Hour of Dragon and don't remember seeing that. Theagenes
It's Robert E. Howard's famous Underwood No. 5 typewriter. That's actually what this page so cool imo.

Brian48
Anyone catch that final $2200+ winning bid on that Conan 9.6 over at CL? Has this book ever sold for this high in 9.6 before? Hope this is a sign Conan popularity is finally coming back.

wombat
I'm currently working on a full run of Conan the Barbarian. And no, none of them are hard to get and most are pretty cheap. I only have a few graded copies. I imagine once I'm done with the run that I might start upgrading individual copies when I can.

Brian48
Yeah, there's piece missing from the bottom of the cover, but this is still one of the nicest raw copies I've found ever. Can't complain about the price either. Snapped it up as soon as I saw it. Artboy99

Brian48
OK. Not hi-grade and the camera pic is , but they're still in pretty good shape. Nice readers. Loved these TPBs back in the day. I think I'll pursue the 7 book set in better next.
Brian48
Gotta find excuses to keep this thread alive . Hoping to close out 2014 by completing my raw run of BWS Conans (completed the hi-grade slabbed run around this same time last year). Anyway, most of these came in just before and after the holidays. Short an upgrade to my FR/VG copy of #12 and I should receive #11 and #8 by tomorrow, but otherwise I've completed my run of companion readers to my slabbed books. wombat
Very nice. I've started to lose steam putting together a full set.
Brian48
Very nice. I've started to lose steam putting together a full set. I've sort put myself on the track for that, but haven't decided if I really want to commit. That's a lot of books and admittedly, the reading quality did go down towards the end. I have about 60-70 different books from the regular run already and about 50-60 from SSOC.

Brian48
Man, those .35 variants are another bug I'm afraid of chasing. This can get expensive.
kav
I'm reading the original Conan books and kudos to Roy Thomas for his adaptations of those stories. That's not easy to do and he changed things perfectly to fit the change of medium. Albert Thurgood

Brian48
OK, not entirely Conan, but there's definitely REH sprinkled in there. I've heard of this catalog that BWS put out in the '70s, but never actually saw one. Everything I've heard seemed to indicate that the catalog itself was very impressive art book. It is indeed. Got this off eBay for $10 on the cheap. mtlevy1 and Artboy99
