I'm more upset about Rosita than I am Ezekial. This is going to get messy. Rick is going to have to enlist Negan and the Saviors, if he wants to stand a chance against the Whisperers.

This was my reaction too. Rosita was a big deal in my mind. She also had a baby on the way. That makes it even more brutal. (tsk)

Oh mess, I forgot about that.

That makes me feel even worse. Eugene is going to be devastated.

From last issue I had a sense that Ezekiel was gonna meet the Reaper; I honestly don't care since I was never too invested in that character. For me, the real shocker was Rosita, not only has she been around longer, but she was also preggers. If I had my way, she'd have been featured in her own page, not Ezekiel.

What bugs me is that if Alpha is the one who did this, she def showed a very human side when she whispered to Rick to take her daughter away from her group and save her. I'm thinking she felt forced to do it to show "dominance" in front of other Whisperers. Either way ish is about to hit the fan!

I think she should have had her own page as well, but I think they were really trying to play up the "is Michonne Dead?" with the image of the outline of his head/hair from behind. They made us guess until that last page.

So true.

Alpha's inner mother wants to keep her daughter safe. But then she turns out to be psycho and killed a dozen innocent people.

It's also incredible just how fast she was able to accomplish it and get back out to Rick. She must of had help.

The twist at the end was awesome. I thought for sure it was going to be Michonne. Honestly, I would have preferred more main characters to die. Maggie would have been a good bet, and would have tied up the loose end with Gregory more easily.

Still, Kirkman. :applause: !!

138 > 132 on Alpha IMO. Yes we find out its Alpha cameo or whatever in 132 (after the fact) but we don't see her face or hear her identified as Alpha. 2c

+1

#132 has a few things going against it that could affect its desirability as a key book.

-No cover appearance on the main cover or on the Loot Crate version.

-There is a Loot Crate version.

-The cameo page doesn't reveal anything. No face, no name, no indication it's a leader figure.

#138 is the big reveal, name, face, intent, introduction etc.

That is what I been saying for a while. Nothing about 132 tells you anything, no revealing dialogue, no identity, the mask has hair yet when Alpha is revealed in 138 she's bald. Also nothing about her profile gives the reader any clues whether its a woman or a man wearing the mask.

Yep it's pretty sketchy for a first appearance. I think what will decide it is what the CGC label says. People who read the series will know that #132 was just trying to out-do the (underwhelming) Whisperers buildup that was in #130.

I've had this discussion with a friend for months. I think her appearance in the mask is more important than without. Like Dr. Doom or Batman, the mask is part of who she is...so far. That and the only guy involved in the book on these boards said 132. lol

I think CGC will ultimately end up siding with the people who put the book out each month. I have an equal amount of both issues so either way, I'm happy she's in them. I simply think the mask makes these characters, not the other way around.

I always thought a reveal of identity was important. They all wear masks with hair so it would be like Spider-man's first appearance in a spider-man costume in a world where everyone around him was wearing a spider-man costume. lol

I hear you and you're probably right but in this specific case the mask is a symbol of anonymity and hiding among the dead. Anyone can be under any dead skin, they are all alike. What makes the character unique is who is under it, hence why I think #138 is more important.

I'd rather have the 1st Spidey in costume over a Peter Parker book with no costume. In this case, Alpha was in the mask. Not the same thing is it ?
