Amazing Fantasy #15 Club

It drives me crazy to think that a single comic book is worth over 25% of the value of my house :o (and yes, some are worth more :o :o )

Please don't get me wrong either: a 5.0 blue label AF 15 is NOTHING to sneeze at! I'd be thrilled twice over to get a PLOD 0.5 (and no, I'm not joking).

That 7.5 "keeper' is a real thing of beauty... \(worship\)

I agree with mac man that the second one is less than a fine, so a 5.0-5.5 seems about right. there are about 2 dozen spine stresses on that one, with loss of color on the ULC and the small chip on the right edge. but, hey, nothing to sneeze at either... \(thumbs u

You're probably right on, as CGC was I guess. My wishful thinking saw it at 6.0, which may have been optimistic on my part. CGC is a bit erratic on that particular book, as shown in another 5.0 I've seen (pictured below) .Thanks again for your thoughts.vsjhaf.jpg

Good point with that book. while it has much less spine creasing than your #2 copy, those missing pieces are BIG and that black smudge is very visible. I'd take your 5.0 over this one any day of the week............ :sumo:it always seems that Marvel chipping gets a break... hm

What are the thoughts on the $4,000+ BIN over on Pedigree for the GD- SS copy?

I can deal with tears, I can't deal with big stains, and I think a lot of people are the same way. That's going to be tough to move with that asking price.
I agree I would love to have a AF15 but not that one :o

Gorgeous copy, Harry. How come you didn't get that one slabbed when you did all the others? Or did you get it slabbed and then free it later?

P.S. I am going to guess that's around a 7.0 (or at worst a 6.5 based on what I can see), which of course means that your return on investment was pretty darn good.

Scott - did you see the AF #15 9.6 SP that went on Ebay for $50,000+?!?!

Is that the one that Hammer beat you to 3 years or so ago??? was he the seller??

I just saw this while checking out some prices on GPA...

Yes, it was the same book, and no, Hammer wasn't the seller. "It's Perry, dammit!" lol:banana:

It does get downgraded a tad less because it's a production defect. Personally, I think that is the wrong way to do it. I would take the non-chipped 5.0 any day of the week over the chipped one. It's no comparison. Of course, I also happen to think that SilverRich's book is nicer than 5.0 based on what I can see. I've had CGC 5.5s and 6.0s that look like that. I'll bet that if he just straight resubbed it, he'd have a better-than-50/50 shot at getting a higher grade.
