I'm being qouted here, but by post was derogatory on this auction and all of my follow-ups are not here. I sent the alarm here and even noted that he sold a book recently and got a neg for selling a book that was a second edition and explained that he never said it was a first. This is the same book with the proviso now that he washes his hands on authenticity. Cut and paste jobs suck, the loser on this auction, since it is now done, will have to ask themselves lots of questions. Obviously I was not willing to risk even a couple thousand on the scant chance the book was legit. I've learned more "ropes' then that.

I alerted the board to this fraud, that is true, but these quotes from me sound like I sponsored buying this book. If you look at the post I made, and next follow-up post, I told everyone that this had to be a fraud. The comments that followed were in agreement. I even noted his feedback which showed he sold a second edition key and was given a neg because he "never said it was a first edition". The buyer here, since the auction is over, will have themselves to blame. The quotes from me look like I thought about buying this book, obviously I did not. There's always a chance, buy a lottery ticket.

AMAZING FANTASY # 15 (MARVEL 1962) 5.0 CGC @ $9000

Harley Yee's Rare Comics

I missed this listing, no longer available? Sold it for less than $9k off-ebay? hm

I saw that too... hm

Or Harley might have sold it at a show and then removed it from ebay. I've bought books off of him in person that were listed on ebay, and then he would remove them the same day.

Out of curiosity, what is the bottom of the line entrance fee into the AF #15 club these days? (shrug)

I don't even mind resto, so long as the book is complete (or at the very least, has the front cover present).

A CGC .5 Universal sold on eBay recently for $1,500.

And if AF #15's are getting out of range (shameless plug), might anyone be able to help me track down a low-grade ASM #1?

Now, I don't wanna start stirring a pot that I'm not 100% ready to stir yet... but what kind of AF15 could I be looking at for 2K? I'm getting pretty serious about it.

Maybe a FR / 1.0.

You could probably get your hands on a 1.5 or so restored as well. If that HA 2.0 copy at $4k is any indicator of the market on a Universal GD, then you'll be hardpressed to get a restored GD for half that is my guess. You *might* be able to raw copy though in 1.5-1.8 for about that price though. That slab adds quite the premium to the price.

Maybe it is just me, but $4K for a 2.0 sounds a bit high. That kind of coin ought to get you into something starting with a 3 I would think. Was there something unusually good about the Heritage 2.0?

As for a raw book, I know if I were spending this kind of money I would want the peace of mind of a slabbed copy. Yes, there is a premium, but you know you are getting what you paid for. Personally I would rather pay market price for a known quantity than gamble four figures on something that is hopefully what is advertised.

Sounds a little high for a 2.0 to me also. Unless i want to give up my Avengers run for awhile, it looks like ive been priced out of the AF15 market for awhile unless i get lucky as hell.

Side note for mysterio. I gotta say i'm loving the new sig line there buddy!

All pre-hero Marvels have bumped you into my top 5 sigs (thumbs u

I just checked completed sales on Clink, and from the scant few available it looks like a 2.5 to 3.0 should be able to be had for $4K. Someone definitely reached for that Heritage book for some reason...

Thanks for all the replies guys.

I don't want a rag for a copy, so being that I can only "afford" $2K, I'm definitely going to have to avoid anything slabbed. i was hoping that maybe an ungraded 2.0 would fall into that price range? Or is that just wishful thinking at this point?
