A cover recreating the unedited Chaykin cover art to Marvel Star Wars 1. It's on 15 x 20 hi art illustration board, and presently framed and on my wall.

I always thought Marvel edited/altered too much from the original, and prefer Chaykin's version best. I did this about a little over a month ago:

:applause: I never knew Chaykin did the cover to Star Wars #1

Chaykin was originally commissioned by Lucas, through Charles Lippincott to draw the poster seen below. The poster art bears a strong resemblance to the art produced for the Star Was #1 cover, but the one Chaykin produced for Marvel is clearly more polished and cleaner IMHO. 1,000 of the Chaykin posters were made and were originally sold for $1.75 at Comic Con. Below is a photo of Roy Thomas and Howard Chaykin doing a presentation at the con, and in the background you can just see a corner of the Chaykin's artwork on the screen:

Interesting background story - if it weren't for Roy Thomas, Marvel probably would not have made the Star Wars comic. Recently, Charles Lippincott, who handled all the early contractual and marketing work for Lucas, explained on Facebook that when he approached Stan Lee to do a comic, Stan blew him off. Apparently, someone (I can't remember who) had suggested he contact Roy Thomas, and after they met up, both Charles and Roy were responsible in making the deal materialize. According to Charles, they had to basically give the comic rights away to motivate Stan to take the deal to produce the comic. We now know that Star Wars series went on to become a huge success, and helped Marvel avert bankruptcy.
