Sandman Page for $7k+

Hi Everyone,

 

I'm really hoping a fellow boardie snagged this beautiful Sandman page. If I hadn't committed to a couple of covers last week, I would have chased it. Here's hoping one of you got it!! Do you guys think it was a good price??

Yeah it's a good price, especially for Ebay. Hope it brings out more pages. Personally I'm not into the Kieth pages of the series these days, but I'm hoping to see more available from other artists on the series.

That's a great page. I didn't see it but I'd say that was definitely worthwhile.

I didn't know how much Keith pages were going for. I really want one of his Sandman pieces is too much for me right now. $7600 surprised me.

I know of two other primo Kieth pages that sold privately between $6K and $6.5K in the past year. In my opinion, $7.6K is a strong price and it will go ways to justifying the high prices some people have shopped key Sandman art at.

 

I also hope this will help bring other pages to light!

Yeah, $7600 surprised me a bit. It was stuck at $5400ish till about 30 min's b4 auction's end or so. Still a great piece though, and nice to see it sold for good $.

I was bidding, but didn't win. 7600 seems strong, but I agree it's a great page with memorable dialogue from that first story arc. This is also the first time a great page has come on ebay for some time, so I suspect there was some bidding excitement involved.

 

Congrats to the winner, whoever s/he is.

There is only one Kieth Sandman page i want and I will never be able to afford it. I actually like Sam's other work. I think his Sandman stuff isn't near as good or powerful as his Maxx or Wolverine stuff.

Agreed. A strong price for that page. I'd prefer one with more inks on it but, then again, any of this is out of my range. I'm happy with my page (even though no Morpheus).

Wow, I'm really surprised at the end price on this, especially with the couple of Kieth pages I am lucky to have. Then again, it is an early issue, Dream in every panel, and definitely not something we see everyday.....so yeah, maybe I shouldn't be so surprised.

 

Would be nice to see pages 20 and 21 from issue 4 to come to light...

 

Although my wife probably wouldn't be so happy about it.
