Also, GodofThunder, you are un-ignored - so please take others' advice here during our resolution of the matter. I ignored you because you were not taking into consideration anything I had to say and I wanted to enjoy a Saturday night without un called for comic book drama.

I like the idea of them for TPB's, HC's, etc. Condition generally isn't that big of a concern and it's hoping to get some good reads that you otherwise might now have bought. (thumbs u

agreed... trades, HCs, and slabs are never worth "nothing"... raws... thats anoter matter.

 here's some more.

Just a few examples to set the record straight:

Kill Joys 5 cover price at best (Hot Topic Variant - http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=killjoys+5+hot+topic&LH_Complete=1&rt=nc )

Manifest Destiny 4 $2.99 Cover at best (NM or better copy, worth way more than cover)

Lady Mechanika 2 2nd print 16 spine ticks (junk)… this book sells for $10-18 on ebay recently, and is a first print. I don't have exact count of spine ticks, but he must have used a microscope as it was definitely at least VF or VFNM.

East of West 1 2nd print $ BIN. You were sent a 1st print. A second print wasn't even included in ANYONE'S box.

Letter 44 1 3 spine ticks $1 BIN. Not a $1 book.

Thoughts please

I have never purchased a mystery box from Rhymenoceros, but I have purchased raw comics from him before and found him pleasant to buy from and a good seller. I would imagine the two of you will be able to work this out.

Hi everybody. I am the seller of the mystery boxes in question. This entire ordeal with GODOFTHUNDER tonight has not been pleasant to say the least. I am happy to see some people at least not jumping on me without hearing my side of the story.

It seems the buyer picked some arbitrary numbers when coming up with their figures. $2 for an XFactor 5 in what the buyer himself described as a 9.2? SERIOUSLY?! Oh, and I now see that in your post here you changed your 9.2 assessment in your PM to me to now be an 8.0. Just one example of the drastic underestimating in value of your box.

I made it completely clear in my thread that the conditions are mixed. I MORE than accounted for any lower grades with many more books in the $5-10 range based on completed ebay sales and/or price guide values. Lastly, since when does 4 spine ticks make a key book completely worthless? (junk as you label it). I never claimed everything was near mint.

Now Godofthunder has made and escalated a paypal claim to a dispute without even considering that he could be incorrect in his value assessment. All this after the buyer tells me he's "not going to make a big deal out of it". I am honest in my selling practices. This experience makes me question whether to continue a presence on the forums.

I was out enjoying a Saturday night, so my apologies for the late reply. I'm interested to hear what other have to say. Please do join in. Here is the link to my thread for anyone interested: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Board=79&Number=7702692&Searchpage=2&Main=341126&Words=Rhymenoceros&topic=0&Search=true#Post7702692

1. good on you for coming in and talking about this.

2. ignoring condition GoT had two boxes with (Im assuming even distribution) 13 books each. Your stated value was "$60-70 market value" which means essentially there should be 13 books that basically average $5 each. I only see one or two books that come in above $5, but Im not a big modern guy. How did you determine the $60-70 value of GoTs two mystery boxes? If you treated the books all just at modern list that would be 13x$3, so that's still only $39... which again means every book should be valued over retail. There were quite a few books in GoTs stack that were definately not valued over retail.

Again, I dont think any comic is junk, or worthless, but I would like to see how you came to the $60-70 value you cited in your thread.

and again see #1, good on you for coming in.

[i wont get rid of my post, but I see two posts up that you are already answering this]

I'll add this to reinforce one of the main keys that was included. Buyer via PM told me it was a 9.2.

Here's a recent 9.0:

Now in the thread to sound better he claims it's an 8.0. ...

I posted ebay links to some of the books he claims are worthless. I left out a bunch but I can do them Monday or Tuesday when I have more time to deal with this if people think it's necessary to justify my case. I'm just trying to prove my point that GoT is extorting me for a refund because he for some unknown reason he expected something other than I described as transparently as possible while keeping the fun of a mystery box sale. It's 12:40am, I have to get up in 6 hours and this has taken far too much energy and stress than it should.

Hoping for some feedback here. Thanks guys

I'm starting to feel played.......again. GoT should not be claiming a PayPal refund for this. The way this is going my gut tells me he is going to be on the probation list.

So I bought TWO mystery boxes from said seller. Got the books today, and well, they're nowhere near keepers. I understand that you, as the buyer, takes the risk when buying.

But that responsibility does the seller need to adhere to make that the books shipped are worth what he/she is claiming?

were they worth the stated amount ($60-70)? How many books were in each box?

Here's the list:

Scott Pilgrim - FCBD Sticker on book (Junk)

Powers 1 six spine ticks (9.2) $1

Mike Danger 1 - ?? Who? $1

Aliens Labyrinth 2 $1 BIN

Superior 1 8 spine tics $1 BIN

Sixth Gun 1 FCBD 4 major spine ticks (junk)

Total 26 books paid $75 for two boxes. Seller won't reason and placed me on ignore/block

Sorry for the improper grammar. I'm typing and sending it instead of reading it first.

Good morning

I just woke up and had to read three pages.

I placed the PayPal claim when the seller Refused to communicate.

Jeff, no one was played.

If the seller feels that I'm scamming him, that's his right.

Like i told him, I wasn't making an issue, but I wanted to give him notice.

If everyone agrees, I'll be more than happy to drop the claim, since I'm no longer on ignore.

I'll just learn not to get involved in mistery boxes.

I read this through, and I'm not looking to reopen what looks like a closing wound, but I have to ask why did the seller not simply refund him his money in the first instance? That is the usual way to solve unhappy customers and avoid drama, yes? (shrug)

It will be a he said / he said argument that won't solve anything at the moment. All I want is to recoop what I consider a loss, not turn a problem into a profit. Someone requested that I drop the dispute, so I did.
