Garage sale finds this morning - couldn't believe the condition of the Thors as they were unbagged!

Is this worth anything?

 

Issue #2 from 1939. Have about 8 of these larger pulps from 1930's / 1940's

 

All beat to hell, but covers are still hanging on, and pulps are complete.

Amazing, unbagged and those Silver Age Thors look really nice.

Short-lived title with Hitler cameo on the cover. This issue has seen increases in the past year or so, like most Martin Goodman pulps.  Should trade just about even-up with a Ms. Marvel 1 in 6.0 - or better.

Yeah, a real good one. For the longest time not worth all that much but collectors have “discovered” it and prices have risen. Still, a pulp not a comic so what would it be worth if it were a comic?

It's been quite a while since I've checked in on the boards...so much good stuff that has been posted since my last visit...congrats to all you comic hunters out there!

My weekend started with a garage sale and ended with a comic show...a lot more purchased than in the pics but here are some highlights....

Despite some gusty winds, yesterday was one of those autumn days that seemed to whisper “don’t waste me.” Heeding the call, I hopped on my motorcycle and cranked out a few hundred miles of trekking western Illinois roadways, culminating with a stop at my favorite fried chicken haunt of all. Needless to say, even with space limited to my saddlebags, I can’t resist stopping at a few antique malls and stores along the way.

While yesterday’s findings included no comics, the I Love Lucy 3-D book was printed by one of the larger producers of 3-D comics, and the Deputy Dawg game will probably ring familiar with a few old timers from the golden era of TV cartoons. The detective mag has some really great picto-fiction stories, and those 1950’s Cosmopolitan magazines have truly forgettable covers but really great interior illustrations.

Nice haul Pop! I actually have that Lucy 3-D mag. Never see it. The Deputy Dawg game brings back memories. We got it as a Christmas present as kids I believe.

Remember that garage sale from last weekend? There was an estate sale I went to this weekend and that guy selling comics from his garage showed up as my competition. He turned out to be very friendly and highly knowledgeable. So his company was welcoming while digging through boxes. He got a Watchmen 1, Booster Gold 1, Solar 10, She Hulk 40, MCP 72, Eternal Warrior 4 2x. Some other guy got an Infinity Gauntlet 1 (these guys are breaking my sets!). Here's the comics I got for $2 each. $196 after tax. Can't believe this thread is 700 pages!

Yep, not the best source of transportation if you plan on buying a whole lot, but it’s a good reset, that’s for sure. There’s something both magical but a little sad around harvest time in the Midwest. It’s acre after acre of watching them bringing in the year’s corn, which leaves the land looking so barren, but as a ritual it’s got such an obvious bustle of industry to it. That a long winter is just around the corner can be a bit of a downer sometimes…

That’s cool that you already have one - I think that’s the first 3-D Lucy I remember coming across. I recently picked up one-shot magazines on Vince Edwards and Tommy Sands. You see the Marilyn and James Dean issues at fairly high prices at shows, but the Tommy Sands was a new one for me. Of course, barely one in a hundred people could probably recall Tommy Sands, and in less than a decade, absolutely nobody will care, but that’s besides the point…
