Spent a week in Boston visiting my brother. I'll post what I found there in a bit because one of the items is amazingly awesome, but I figured I'd put these up first...the estate auction winnings I had before I went away. Picked them up when I got back in town yesterday. Just a few comics. 😊 There's more than this, some Robin Hood, Santa Claus Funnies, Scary Tales and misc but this was the bulk of it.

Tons of good stuff! Is there more that you can share about how the estate sale auction went?

That's stuff from 3 different auctions. There are another 20+ Argosy pulp magazines that aren't shown in addition to the other books I listed.

Some of the stuff was pictured in the auction ads and other stuff I just had to take a risk on based on the auction description. For instance, the Iron Fist bunch and the Marvel Spotlight/Feature books were only listed as part of certain lots and not pictured. Competition is sometimes low and sometimes high. As long as I can make good money on the lot I don't mind bidding but when it gets ridiculous I just bow out. There's always another train coming.

I acquire a lot of stock this way. It takes a bunch of work and time to find the right auctions, but it pays off in the end especially more than local private ads as the area I live in is mostly touristy and has a small permanent population.

The guy who sold me the Marketplace lot the other day messaged me and said he found one more box of books he forgot he had (about 80ish books), and I could have the box for $35 if I wanted it. I picked it up today - nothing crazy Earth shattering in there, but definitely a nice mix of books; here are the highlights/fun stuff:

I had no idea these Saved by the Bell comics existed until recently (saw another one somewhere...different post maybe?), and now I feel like I need to start hunting them down and collect them...

Oddly enough, this is the second time I've owned this exact book - I found a copy a couple of years ago, but I sold it not long after.

Shortly after being posted online I saw an ad for a collection that stated to make an offer. So I sent an offer which also happened to be the first offer the seller received. I never owned Flash 123 (which I’ve been on the hunt for many years) or ASM Annual 1 so I was delighted to jump on this small collection which all fit inside a shoe box. The seller told me he inherited the comics from a friend he helped. These are the highlights

Beautiful! One's I was after too, while the copy I "had my eye on" already sold lol I was trying to save... ha-ha

Glad to hear that something worked out for someone. That patience and search does pay off with a little faith and trust :)^^

Also hit a good sale at a comic shop. Higher grade books. I spent $175 but the GS Superheroes w/ Spidey is at least a VF/NM 9.0 though I have it as a 9.2. Everything but the Adventure (1st Lone Wolf) is a 9.2 or better. I bought some on a whim again as I have them, maybe lesser grade (Avengers w/ 1st Nebula & Detective), CGC'd (DC Comics Presents 1 and 2) or for pure nostalgia (B&B150, JLA 139, ASM Annual, All Star which I already have in 9.2 or better.)

A few items picked up from a vendor at this weekend’s Rose City Vintage Market.

Bottom 2 right are Radio Orphan Annie decoder pins from 1938 and 1936.  Bottom row left is a 1948 Captain Midnight decoder.  Top row are Junior Detective Club.

Nice badges! You know how much I love those. Glad you got to go. I haven’t been since before Covid. Used to be three full buildings and July has the outdoor show as well.

My buddy from down here, sets up with his wife to sell. He found a nice small box of old comics.

My wife and I would fly up very early on Thursday and hit all the antique stores in the area. We ordered our tickets for Friday set up (WELL worth it). Would get up real early and folks would set up out of their cars in the parking lot. Picked the outdoor show first and head inside the buildings. Came back Sat and took the Sat night flight back home.

Prices were much cheaper in Portland than LA so we always came home loaded. Since the owner change, it probably wouldn’t be worth it anymore for us. Next to the May Brimfield, MA show, it was probably the best show in the country.
