I stole this image from Ciorac a few years ago in one of his FS threads. I would have to say this is my most favorite centerfold splash I have ever seen. I believe it was from Famous Funnnies #1 I'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong.

Actually, that's from New Comics #1. It is also Walt Kelly's first comic art.

Here's a list put together by the Forum in Bangzoom's thread. This was the latest I could find, but there may be a more recent one. There was at least one missing from the list that Buttock can supply.

Revised list of pre-1941 comic books with full page panels. (The criteria we're using is that the full page panel actually be incorporated into a standard sequentially paneled narrative and not be a pin-up or a stand alone story book page.)

New Adventure # 13 x 3 (Feb. 1937)

Detective Comics # 1 x 2 (March 1937)

Haven't really done any topical threads besides selling books, so thought I would start this one and see where it goes. One thing I noticed besides the great covers of the golden age era are some really spectacular splash pages and here are some of mine that I like quite a bit. All of these are from Captain America, please share some of yours.

Those reds really pop! :applause:

Thanks for the correction. Also, I wasn't aware that it was Walt Kelly's first comic art.

Here's a series from Fight Comics # 29 to 32 or 30 to 33 I don't recall -

If you only saw the left half of this spread, it would be at the top of the double entendre list

lol

I thought the same thing.. I kinda think the ambiguity was intentional in this case.
