Interesting that the style is classic, but that she's not riding the broom side saddle. What is that white line and ring near the top of the broom? Did he paint the wire holding the broom up too (you can see the other one too just behind her)???

And as far as the wires, he always made his pinups with playful in mind. The girl is not a "real witch" but just dressed as one.

 

FYI: Elvgren paintings are real hot with a range of $40k to $150k a pop as can be seen in the most recent Heritage auction this past Tuesday
