Your Copper Pride & Joy

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread.

Well, except for the being really, really jealous bits.

Post your favorite Copper book or books, goofball.

Oh man, where do you begin? You may as well have asked me which child is my favorite, (my oldest son).

I'll go make an ecclectic list and bring it back. Hold your breath.

I love the "Copper Age" (although I'm not overly fond of that designation...I prefer simply "the 80's"). Most of the original art I collect is from that period. I'll admit it's mostly out of nostalgia. Nonetheless, there's a lot of pretty art and I love it all.

I especially loved the independents. Here are some highlights (a mix of covers and interiors) for me:

Reid is great. David Boswell and I have been talking via email for a few years now.

He sure is a swell guy. I tried to talk him into doing an oil painting for me but

he was never satisfied with the results. In the end I bought a lot of his early original

art from the Georgia Straight of Reid. I always do enjoy the earliest stuff more then

the later. Do not get me wrong, i have a few pages of his later work, including a page

from issue #2, but that initial development of the character is what I enjoy the most.

Captain Coffee's (Lowell) 1st appearance is awesome. David had to basically figure

out what kind of characters would be around this type of milkman. He never expected

such success.

I saw your artwork on that website before coming here so I had an inkling who you

might be.

Great stuff! thanks for sharing.
