Seriously, I am not reslabbing as I just got it and it is only worth the slab charge. It was won as a fluke.

You mean you won it as a fish? (shrug)

Maybe I should be more specific, how can I "get the smell out?"

If it's surface smoker's oily residue you could use some automotive plastic polish and clean the entire slab. Brands like "Mother's" leave a very pleasant smell.

If it's the book itself...?? (shrug)

Yuck. Wipe it down with a damp cloth... hopefully that will do it.

If the smoke permeated to the interior of the slab and the book itself, the only thing you can probably do is crack it and let it air out.

Putting it into one of these should get it smelling fresh.

If that doesn't work, try one of these:

A damp cloth is worth a try, but smoker's residue on plastic is nasty and can be stubborn. I'm guessing it will be akin to a modeler prepping plastic to remove any 'mold release'. Probably need a drop or two of mild detergent in some warm water to make the damp cloth... (shrug)

The good news is if it's the slab it's doable. (thumbs u Something will work.
