62 posts in this topic

Seriously, I am not reslabbing as I just got it and it is only worth the slab charge. It was won as a fluke.

You mean you won it as a fish? (shrug)

I recently bought a smelly slab, I could smell it immediately when I opened the package.

However, it's old moldy book smell, not smoke smell. I am afraid it might be coming from the book, and not just the slab.

It is quarantined from my other slabs until I can do something about the odear. :ohnoez:

Hate to break the news to ya but the plastic in slabs don't smell like old, moldy books whereas the old, moldy book inside the slab very often can smell like old, moldy books. :gossip:

I'm suggesting getting a box of baking soda and sprinkling the entire box in a large enough box to hold the slab.

Set a tea cup upside-down, lay the book on the tea-cup and close up the large box for a few weeks.

I have no doubt this will work.

I just got a slab in this week that reeks of cig smoke - no worries though, as I'm cracking the book out - should take care of the problem once the inner and outer wells are in the trash

Place the slab in a box with a raw onion. It works on skunk urine. (shrug)

Ok, what had skunk urine on it that had to be saved? You couldn't just throw it out?

:baiting:

Hopefully not the milking overalls

DC Comics Presents #43, laugh all you want, it was cheap!! 9.6

Well, that explains it... it was stinky to begin with! lol

Technically, I have numerous stinky-slabs in my collection for that same reason... you simply get used to the funk after awhile. ;)

You put your house in a box with an onion? Did you live in Kandor?
