I originally said this in the thread announcing his hospitalization. I'd hoped to not have to repeat it so soon...

 

Great great inker (& penciller for that matter), but I really value his contributions as an editor. I cannot think of a title where the issues he edited were not head & shoulders above those before and after. And his tenure as managing editor of DC in the 1980s was a highwater mark for the company's success & creativity.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. I still have my copy of Detective 457 I bought fresh from the 7-Eleven rack back in '75...one of my favourite issues. RIP

 

While hard to pick one favorite, whenever I see Tec 457.. I ALWAYS think Giordano.

 

Love the style of that cover

 

I hope he knew just how many fans he had, and how much his work was appreciated.
