Here is a picture of my beater Tec 33 I picked up off of Ebay. Despite the exterior looking so rough, the interior graded with white pages. (thumbs u

That's great, I'm glad you were able to snag a copy. Not many of these babies to go around, in any condition. :applause:

Of course I am. It's one of the most important Batman books ever published. Everybody knows that.

The Tec #27 CGC 5.5 Rockford copy is now a new company 6.0. Wonder why the current owner got it regraded by the other company. Thought they wouldn't get a CGC bump?

Anyway, interesting news.

Anyone got 350k to spare :foryou:

OMG.

29 in 7.5...? I think I need a new pair of pants.

Has anyone seen this copy before? Scan anywhere - going to be fun to watch...!

Well, there's a 7.5 (Billy Wright) that sold on HA awhile back.

Also curious about the Billy Wright 7.0 that sold on HA the same year (since only one 7.0 is currently on the census, and we know Bunky has a 7.0). Maybe the 7.0 was re-subbed and got a bump to 7.5?

Actually - looks like the Tec 29 7.0 and 7.5 Wright copies on HA are the same book. So...one lucky buyer bought the 7.0 for $83,650 in Feb 2012 - then that buyer pressed/resubbed the book to a 7.5, which he then sold for $65,725 in Nov 2012. This would explain the lack of a second 7.0 on the census.

All in all, the seller lost over $33k in less than 8 months. That's a bitter pill to swallow!

Even better: Looks like the same buyer played the same game with Tec 28 from the same Feb 2012 auction, with similar results:

Bought an 8.0 Wright Tec 28 in Feb 2012 for $44,812.50 - sold the same book in May 2012 as an 8.5 @ $38,837.50...for a net loss of roughly $15k.

Yeesh. doh!

Court,

I thought that Bunky's was a 7.5. Anyways, didn't G.A.tor use to own a Tec 29 7.5 at some time or another? Paging Rick....

The Billy Wright books took a bath second time on the auction block. Most, if not all of them. Speaking for the detectives in the collection. 45 is another example ( HA archives)

I've been trying to tell a certain boardie with the BW 43 that.

44.8k - 38.8k does NOT equal to a loss of 15k you lovable math genius you :foryou:

Thanks Peter. I couldn't remember if it was a 7 or 7.5. It might even be the same one Bunky has now.

It does when you take the fees into account.
