I was doing awesome with my SA run's and keys but then i got into GA and everything went south lol. Now instead of buying books all the time i just look and look and miss everybook i want due to money and everyone else wanting the same books as me ( pre robin tec;s)

I would love to get into GA books!!! But like you noted, I fear once I do, I will open up a can of worms! So I just look, admire and drool. And than repeat every every month during auction time.

This may sound weird but i kind of wish i had just stayed in SA cause the GA books are sooo expensive and hard to find (well certain ones). I mean its awesome to finally get them but as crazy as this sounds im not enjoying this as much as i used too, only because i see all the books i want and dont really have the money for them. Im having a hard time getting back to my ASM run i guess

Doesn't sound weird at all.

It is exactly how I feel. In SA I can buy what I want (minus upgrading my DD #1 & #7 9.2s ow/ws to 9.4s until I get the go ahead from the Mrs. - and if certain books don't surface in the grade and pq I want) In GA, I would have all those issues: scarcity, not available in the preferred grade, going up against too deep of pockets and if and when they surface out of private collections. I just know it is not feasible for my collecting habits.

I wish I could, but really in the end I am way more of an SA guy when it comes to what I truly do like to read and collect. GA would be more of just owning to own for me. So I just sit back and look at all the gorgeous scans some of our lucky Boardies display.

2010 has been a pretty pivotal year for me...gave up the slavery to my ASM 1-100 and FF 1-100 sets...culled those down to ASM 1-52 (+ about 10 of my favorites between 53-100) and FF 1-72 (+ kept my sweet FF 75 9.4)...which created some funds to go after some bigger books for my sets...

Acquired so far...

ASM 9, 14, 15, 28 and 30 in 9.0 and 24 and 30 in 9.4...

FF 17, 22, 23, 24, 28, 30, 33, 39, 40, 43 and 45 in 9.0...

JIM 97, 107, 116 in 9.0 and 123 in 9.2...

Just looking to upgrade other books to 9.0+ balance of 2010... :wishluck:

Was pretty amazed at the progress I made with my FFs...need only 7 remaining books in 9.0 in my FF 21-72 run...25, 26, 27, 31, 37, 48 and 50... :headbang:

:gossip: Thanks mostly to rube11 and kryptospidey...

Not necessarily a goal at the beginning of the year, but only because I could not conceive of ever having a shot at it.

This coupled with putting a new roof on my house has probably ensured that there will be no more major purchases this year, but I'm okay with that.

Well one goal I've stuck to is to not buy any BA Marvel Horror this year, including my hoardfest of WBN 32 and TOD 10......it's been hard, as there have been some deals. I sold one run of WBN and one run of TOD.....keeping the rest. Like others, I've been selling off some stuff that needed a good home and more love than I was giving it. One was BA Conan, as when puting together that run overtime and culling out lesser issues, I compiled alot of single issue BA Conan, so moved the majority of that in 2010.

I did score Super DC Giant 17 and will start looking for # 21 later in the fall.

My goal is on track. I am trying to complete the definative Daredevil collection. I have all the issues from both series including 99% of the variants, and am about 10 issues away from all the crossovers. This includes all the 30 and 35 cent variants, the Canadians, the no numbers from the second series, the marvel legends reprints, all the 25th anniversary and 70th frame variants, the fox movie giveaway and the German museum edition. I sold with 100% feedback almost 15,000 comics to get to this point. I have dealt with Mile High, Mycomicshop, Comic Collector Live and Atomic Avenue and have have nothing bad to say about any of them. This quest has led me to purchase comics I would not normally have purchased and to dealers that according to some are to stay away from. I can honestly say that I have had no bad experiences purchasing almost 700 comics to complete my quest. Im not going to person_without_enough_empathy about a grade on a 2 dollar comic. Thanks to anyone that helped me including Shieldagent, Warlord and Bellrules. Set a goal and go for it. ( :
