42 posts in this topic

Hard to tell if he's throwing a curve ball or not. lol

Slow it will ya.

The Noobs may not catch on..... :juggle:

Careful, Mark 1 will challenge you to a fisticuffs if you diss him.

Nah, I'm a collector not a fighter lol

I wouldn't touch this X-Men #1...too risky.

I'm going to deside that it's trimmed on the right side.

That's the best I can tell from the pitcher.

I agree. The first thing I noticed was the CCA stamp in the upper right was cut off, so I thought "is it an off center page?" but then looking on the left side it appears to be right where it should be. Everything about this tells me to stay away.

The front and back pitchers are from two different books.

You can tell by the nearly perfect fold line on the fc pic compared to the miswrap on the bc pic.

SCAM.

Good call. (thumbs u

Actually, that's not the BC of an X-Men 1. It's X-Men, but not #1.

The art from the wrap around isn't from #1.

Very good catch!

You are absolutely right. That's an X-men #6 back cover! What a tool!

and THIS is why I loves me the boards!! thanks guys!

I got large pics of this book. I can almost swear I see color touch on this book. I can't prove it, but it's enough for me to stop bidding.

There seems to be a little too much black at the top left spine and the purple at the bottom right corner seems funky. He did send me the correct back cover scan, though.

Decent looking book.

Is there any resto, aside from the trimmed right edge?

Not that I doubt you, but how do you know it is trimmed? I want to know how to recognize it if I see it. Is it just because the right edge looks to have so much less wear then the others?

Because given the general wear of the comic, the right edge is unusually sharp.

Compare the crispness of the edge with the top and bottom edges.

Look at the crease at the bottom right of the FC. Notice how it's perfectly straight even through the wear.

Then look at how much shorter the book is than any other copy of this issue. Not that this is a 100%, but given the other tells, it adds up to being highly suspect in my opinion.

Also, note that there is absolutely no cover overhang on the right edge. Dead giveaway given the other signs.

But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.
