Well if you count the time bluray has been out...Mr Lucas is simply trying to maximize his revenue...

I did get the prequels on DVD but not the originals...it was my way of protesting all of these revisions and whatnot. I will get the 9 disk set and be done with it.

Now the big debate is the fact that the "Special Editions" versions will be there not the originals. God I hope he doesn't tweak with them more.

Star Wars on Amazon

That's a link to the DVD set with the original theatrical versions as a bonus disc. Unfortunately, the originals were just thrown on DVD from the old laserdisc master and weren't even anamorphically enhanced for widescreen. But at least they are on there.

EDIT: Actually, I don't think they are available in the boxset anymore, they only sell them individually. :(

I'll buy a blu-ray player and get the 9 disc set.

Although I know full well in another 2 years Lucas will release some other versions.

Damn him.

And he can do that, but this will be the last version I will buy. Guar-an-teed.

I can't find the original theatrical versions!

I've got a handicam copy of the 1977 theatrical release - there were quite a few small changes between this and the VHS release. George sure does love to tweak things...
