I've been enjoying this thread -- a lot of really nice Wrightson, Adams, Kaluta, Sutton etc. I'm still fond of this book in particular as it kicked off the 100 Page series from DC.

It's interesting that the follow-up to the horror reprints was the romance -- they only got around to the superheros in the 3rd 100 page giant. I realize this is a little off-topic, but I have seen the DC Special Romance posted in the thread, so thought this might okay.

Adam, those are two nice copies. thumbsup2.gif

I paid an obscence multiple on both, over 10x guide. The 4 was $50 and the 5 was $35. Those were the days.

Adam, really nice to see the back cover. Nice example of 60's/70's psychedelic pop-art.

Can't make out the artist's sig., can you name him?

Christo_pull_hair.gif I am not even going to show you what my #4 looks like. That is such a tough book. Amazing copy you have there.

I had to pay multiples of guide on this book as well. It probably cost me $3.

It came from an original owner who collected every DC comic off the newstand starting around 1969 until his death. He didn't read them and stored them carefully in a cool location, so have they have white pages and glossy covers like Oakland copies. He was not super-picky so some of the copies were just VFs. I picked up about 100 books, but didn't pick up all of the rare romance and humor titles like I could have. (Who would have thought ANYONE would have been interested in those?)

The signature is of "C. Armentano."

That art looks like the result of a very good acid trip. thumbsup2.gif

I was leafing some boxes I haven't been been through in a while and found some of the BA horror, 100 pagers and Giants. I could have had any DC comic I wanted cheap, just didn't know what to want at the time.

Isn't THAT always the case. And right now there are dozens of Copper books that we could buy for cheapo that in 10-15 years we are gonna be saying the same thing about. That's the way it is when you look at things from the investment point of view. You never know what is gonna be hot or "go way up" in the future.
