I never dreamed I'd need to bring a stun gun and brass knuckes to a con....

Now I remember the guy at SDCC who go a pencil to the eye. Ouch...

Lots of psychos out there unfortunately.

Do you really think you'd need a weapon to flush this turd? zzz

Why is it not allowed for some?

The entire Board knows the answer to this question.

I used my month off to find video on eharmony of the culprit that suggested the length of my sentence.

This is awesome. Welcome back, sir. (thumbs u

I really enjoy getting this kind of PM.

"donna i'll put a bullet in your head"

Really? At what point do the moderators review registration before accepting someone as a member here?

Unfortunately, it's impossible to weed through them all. If someone is persistent enough, there is absolutely no way you can prevent a-holes from registering and the moderators wouldn't even know to suspect until something like this happens (I'm a mod on another forum and have to deal with this all the time).

Report 'em and let the mods do their work.

If the Mods were really smart they wouldn't even ban people who are constantly banned and come back. Once the word is out let others just put them on their block list and let them think they have an audience when in fact the majority of people will have them on ignore.

I'm getting a bit riled up over this entire issue...

I have received NUMEROUS threats like this. Yes, you guessed it - it was the clowns ones who hated CGC, everything they stood for, yet chased me over here. Some of them have more posts than I have in the 10 years or whatever it is I first registered( if that shill would re-post my registration number # 200-something; HA! When you need them, you can't get even a good shill!), and I have yet to have seen them sell ANY CGC product here, or on eBay.

But I am not here to hijack my friend's Thread with MY agenda(s), which are NEVER hidden. I am here on comicdona's Thread to show my total loyalty and support, and to LINK these thoughts from everyone concerned as the collective, that something HAS to be done.

It is apparent that the powers at CGC that may be, just either:

1) don't think that this is important

2) just delete posts as a short-term band-aid

3) they truly think that this is the LOVE BOAT and every episode of infighting ends well;

4) they don't take us seriously as they should.

MY take is that if this were MY business, there is no way on Charlie Sheen's busy medicine cabinet would there be the allowance of the trolls to otherwise harrass, theaten, bait, ridicule, or otherwise insult their Customers that make us what we are as a business. The trolls have been very clever here, and has actually gained several of the CGCers' confidence. But that is not that major of a point: if they behave, all would be well. Butthere is an EASY SOLUTION TO ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS:

The Boards should be open to THOSE WHO PURCHASE( send submissions in) THE PRODUCT - not this other way around that those who DO NOT NOR EVER INTEND TO SUBMIT shoudl be allowed on a Forum. I went round and round with Borock, Haspel, and now Harshen, and I guess they STILL HOLD OUT HOPE that the trolls MIGHT send in a batch of three moderns to get their customary 9.8.

Not gonna happen. But let's say I am 95% right and a few DO send in three mods and happily take their three 9.8's. At what cost did the company sacrifice to get the trolls to submit? That cost is I KNOW TO BE A FACT a Randall Bartlett, of West Hills, CA. His ASM collection would give Brulato a run for his money. Randall has stopped posting, deactivated his CGC account, and sold me part of his collection, and consigned out the rest. The trolls got to him, he said, " hey CGC would not do anything, I quit". Now how many others have been chased out fo this hobby? If you type on this reply that this is an isolated case, that tells a lot.

I am thinking about getting a petition together, write the synopsis myself( I will make the time), get those who I believe that understand what is at stake here, and present it to THE TOP PERSON at The Collectibles Company. And I am going to print this now in case this gets mysteriously "deleted".

Ther Threats have got to stop, the trolling has got to stop, the harrassment has got to stop, the insults and blaming has got to stop. Food for thought: this does not happen at the PGX site. What does Patterson know that we here at CGC does not know? I only envy Patterson for that power he has to have the strength to stop the bull over there; I wished I could be the one to stop it here. Like me, hate me, does not matter. I defended CGC when they first came into being, and I feel that my loyalty to them has been misplaced. I send comics in. Have two batches supposedly on backorder. I have three more ready to go, but I am nervous about my 9.2's cracked out/pressed coming back at 8.0 instead of the last batch of 9.2's that came back at 8.5's. CGC does not retaliate? Maybe they don't need me and they really need the trolls. Sad to concede that this may have been the case through all my flamewars with Stu Cathell, and a few others who post here now. I gotta stop before they kick me off.

I think personally, that Cal has a valid point. It is a little exclusionary but allowing people who actually use the services of the company to post here (nothing would prevent people from reading) would greatly reduce the riff raff, drive by postings, spam etc.

That's not to say that there wouldn't be any trouble with the system if it was harder to post on here but it would allow people who are truly serious about the product to discuss the product rather than just have an open door and no accountability.

It would also keep people from doing stuff that they normally do under complete anonymity.

There's certainly advantages to a stricter policy.

Perhaps there should be a nominal membership fee to join the Boards with CGC holding each Boards member's credit card on file.

Something that keeps a person from staying totally anonymous, for sure.

Some people don't have or use credit cards but more than an merely an email address as the sole identifier.

I wonder if CGC regrets having the chat forum up after it being here for approx. 10 years now.

Changing the structure of this board after nearly 10 years would destroy the community.

Yup. I realize that.

It would eventually adapt, just as it always had though. I wonder at what point convenience is more important than safety, though.
