I picked up an Adventure from Jon Verzyl last year that he thought may be a San Francisco book but lacked authentication. Anyway, a Tom Reilly book or not; it is absolutely stunning and has now got me jonesing to upgrade to this level of book going forward.

for any boardie jonesing for a 'frisco book, there is a world's finest 10 [i think that's the number] on c'link and ebay, and priced o.k. for this ped. not a book i'd want in my collection, but it is a reilly book, and i know there are some world's finest lovers around these here parts. and it's a damn sight better than most wf covers, imo.

Straw-man, thanks for heads-up on the WF 10 Reilly copy! Too bad its only an 8.5! It was shocking how little some of the Spokane WFs brought during Comicconnnect's last auction and they were 9.6 copies! EJR

I took a quick look for Tom Reilly in the 1940 census and found one in San Francisco that would be the right age for the comics. I also backtracked and found him in the 1930 census, too. I'm not sure how any of the story matches the census, though.

awesome book. This period in the Adventure run is so awesome. 2 S+K stories in each issue, Kirby covers, plus Hourman by Bailey, and Starman. I'm always amazed that they sell relatively cheaply to a lot of inferior GA

So, I first learned about this books existence in 1994-1995. I lost out on it back then but saw the book raw when it was graded a few years back. It's one of the freshest, whitest books I've ever seen! The colors are amazing and the black ink is flawless. I'm glad to finally add it to the collection.
