I thought the artist who did books like this was Quah @Crops068 I'm probably not spelling it right, but looks to be competition.

Other artists do insanely detailed work like that one.

Quah is notorious for "sneaking" in references to other things like pop culture 80s icons (Death Star, ET, etc)

Cool man, never heard of Quah.  I took a look at his stuff.  Great stuff but not really my style.  To each his own.

Artist reminds me of Moebius and Darrow.   I think it comes out soon.   TFAW still has it for ratio.  Don't buy the overpriced ones on ebay. 

Totally makes me think of Darrow.   And Skroce from We Stand on Guard.

Agreed.  I started researching more of Bratukhin's material and found some sweet stuff.  

Apparently, these are handdrawn and used to take him months to complete.

Hopefully, he does some more stuff for the big 2 soon.

I told him what I wanted and asked only for the Fifth Element stones and the National Treasure glasses, the rest was him.

Yes he had a small series several years ago that name is escaping me the art was very impressive.

Yes, I was reading that he draws and inks carefully by hand on paper which is why it takes time.   I do appreciate an artist who is a perfectionist.

Apparently, his newer stuff, he has upgraded to a tablet recently so it's much easier to fix mistakes and allows him  to be faster.

I finally realized what his art style reminded me of - I really liked Hard Boiled by Frank Miller when I was in college. Here's an example of a page from that. There may be better examples, but this is the least graphic...

If anyone else is looking, this is still in stock at TFAW if anyone is looking to buy at cover.    It's sold out at midtown and most of ebay except for two overpriced listings.

 

 Batman #124 variant by Filya Bratukhin.   at TFAW is gone now.  I was surprised since it was limited to 1 per person but maybe they didn't have that much in stock...
