The artwork is not bad and you really wouldn't notice the proportions issue upon first glance.

There is a lot worse out there.

That's Milo Manara, quite a different artist than Greg Land, and if you saw what that cosplayer did, the proportions are not that far off. It's not Manara's best work, but it's been so blown out of proportion by people that don't know comics it's hilarious.

It's kind of amazing what a reminder can do for a comic. This series wasn't dead but it was off most people's radar and then an a speculation article here

and the next thing you know, you have people noticing an old but very good comic by BKV. The numbers presented for the number 1 are inaccurate but the story is in the right place.

Proportionally, Ivy has a pretty long torso (not sure exactly how tall she is, but from the pics on her Facebook page it looks like she's pretty tall), and it's still much shorter in the photo when compared to the Manara art. Add in the face that doesn't project nearly as much up into the air, and that the angle is not as extreme, and that Ivy already said that it hurt to be holding the pose, and I think it proves what the critics were saying; that it's unrealistic.
