LAS VEGAS COMIC EXPO - SEPTEMBER 29-30, 2012

Circus Circus scares me, as well. Its not the clowns, either.

+1. :P

Just switched our rooms from Alexis Park to Riviera, thanks to the new group code:

LV Comic Expo Riviera Hotel Booking Link

Peppermill is an awesome suggestion. It's sad that I've been visiting Vegas for almost 20 years and I still haven't had a meal at the Peppermill... Ok, to be fair, I don't "remember" having a meal at the Peppermill. :) hehe

Riviera food court is passable, but I will warn you ALL, the buffet was shut down for a few years because of all the people that got sick from it, so yeah, I'm skipping their new buffet. (I know they had their official reasons why there wasn't a buffet, but I believe what I heard) The McD's across the street isn't bad (for a McD's) but since I'm driving to Vegas, I'll take advantage of what the town has to offer at night. :)

A week to go! And now that I'm not bringing my David Finch stack o'books, more room to bring other books. :)

I thought I heard that David Finch also cancelled out on his scheduled appearance at the Long Beach Comic Con too, and I didn't see his name on their roster of guests on their website:

http://www.longbeachcomiccon.com/comic-con-guests.php

So, he must be busy with his DC comics deadlines and it's probably difficult to travel from Canada to the West Coast, between work and family obligations.

Sometimes, I guess it's out of the promoters control whether or not scheduled guests cancel out.

:signfunny:

Same.. I had a bunch all prepped.. Now they will sit in wait.. At least he hasn't cancelled NYCC... Yet. May send a few with DWC

I'm excited that Tricia Helfer is going to be there. Gotta have her sign BSG #0.

They sure are getting last-minute guests into the show still.

Anyone know how much Tricia charges for autographs?

$30 if you pre-order, according to the LVCE website. Same price in person? (shrug)

DC-we will be confirming with Tricia's reps and handlers.

The good thing about pre-booking your tickets is that you will be assured signatures. Tricia will have limited availability during the convention, with her 1 day only appearance, as well as panel/program commitments at the con as well.

We highly encourage you to pre-book your autograph tickets.

Thanks!

Jimmy...

That's so true !!!

I think Vegas is a great venue for everyone, both for attracting celebrity guests as well as vacationing attendees. The fact that it's basically a 24 hr town with something for everyone in almost every demographic and socio-economic situation. From bargain cheap eats to fine dining. From cirque du soleil shows, concerts and shows to strip joints, burlesque shows, karaoke clubs, bars and dance nightclubs. Spas and high end designer hopping, poolside getaways, and even outlet shopping...

It's the one city where, in theory a guy can take his wife, spend the day at the comic convention while knowing she can find entertainment elsewhere without a problem, then have a fun time with a night on the town.

Generally speaking, because it's subsidized by the gambling, hotels are both decedent and affordable, while parking is plentiful and free. The bizarro world of San Diego Comic Con!

I think it's going to be great for the locals, since they've not seen a show of this caliber ever, so are in for a true treat! It's going to be reinvigorating to the local collectors and hopefully this inaugural event will be the first of many years to come...

One advantage the promoters have is it is a lot easier to talk a star into a weekend in Vegas than ,say, Toledo or Reston, Virginia..

I leave Monday, and hope the show is a smash.

Is Finch officially out of LBCC? I was hoping to get some Brightest Day comics signed at Vegas and when he cancelled I thought for sure I'd get a sketch and sig at LBCC as a back-up.

He is still listed on the Artist Alley page though,
