I believe Conservation is the term he uses. I looked at one of his books once. When I mentioned restored, he was quick to correct me. .

Richie notes that 'Archival tear seals' are 'Conservation' in his eBay listings. He also has separate categories for 'Repair' and 'Restoration when describing books.
