I got these back a month or so ago, same submission.  Nothing seems amiss other than they should all be 9.8's!  No...I think they were graded more or less fairly, if a little on the tight side.

Holy Lobo heaven. LOL! That is awesome and thanks for providing some feedback on the topic.

I've been seeing a lot lately from reading on here and even some of the YT videos that CGC is starting to grade more tightly which is a good thing moving forward.

I keep thinking that hopefully they get more consistent doing this with all of the delays and other QC issues, but I could be wrong. I am new to the grading of comics so many of you guys have way more experience at this then I do.

These two were graded in February (2022), and "tight" isn't the word that would spring to mind if I were asked to describe the grading.  (Both sold on April 9 for $1000 each, by the way...)

Any word from anybody on where they are at with Economy Slow Track?  Has anybody that submitted in Sept. 2021 gotten their books back?  A few weeks ago some folks stated they got their Economy Slows from August.  I'm hoping they've at least moved into the September submissions, even though mine have a received date of 9/28/21   :(

I have slows from 9/14...no change yet from SFG

My modern pre-screen that went into SFG on 29 Jan 2022 just hit G/E/I on 13 Apr 2022. I have been very impressed on the turnaround times for my pre-screens so far.

Interestingly, my slow track modern that also went into SFG on 29 Jan, same day as the pre-screen, is still in SFG. This is the second time in a row that my pre-screens were done faster than regular slow track submissions.

Worth noting that everything I have sent in so far has been significantly faster than the promised TATs on the web site. Kudos to the graders, they are really motoring right now.

Went to QC on 14 April, just marked as shipped 15 April.

They made a mistake in the billing and it is almost impossible to get through right now, but hopefully I can get that done soon. I did the order prior to the price changes and I think they may have used the new pricing.

I haven't submitted a large batch of books in some time. I have heard grading was more strict so I wanted to see for myself and compare it to my old grading habits. So I sent in a batch of random books (that were not pressed) I had laying around. Comics I never got around to submit to CGC. I selected the FAST track option and mailed them in last month. These are books I had previously graded many years ago and had post it notes on the outside mylar bags. I like to think back in the day (10-15 years ago) when I submitted books to CGC I was pretty darn accurate. Books typically came back what I thought they would grade or better. Very rarely would they come back less. So the books I submitted last month are from my grading standards from that time period.

* All of the submissions were graded White pages, 1 was Off-white and 1 was offwhite to white.

Here are the results: The first grade is what I thought it would grade vs the grade it actually recevied this month.

Better than I graded

1.    Swing with Scooter 9 9.2 10-11/67 -> 9.4 (Sole Top Census)

2.    Tales Calculated to Drive You Bats 1 11/61 7.0 -> 8.0 (2nd Highest census)

3.    Tales Calculated to Drive You Bats 3 3/62 3 5.0 -> 6.5 (2nd Highest census)

4.    Secrets of Haunted House 27 8/80 9.6 -> 9.8 Don Rosa copy (Tied Top Census)

5.    Dead of Night 2 2/74 9.4 -> 9.6 (Tied Top Census)

6.    Rawhide Kid 94 12/71 9.4 -> 9.6 Oakland copy (2nd Highest census, 1 copy higher)

7.    Rawhide Kid 101 7/72  9.6 -> 9.8 Oakland copy (Tie Top Census)

What I expected

1.    House of Secrets 114 12/73 9.2 -> 9.2

2.    Rawhide Kid 100 6/72 9.4 -> 9.4 Oakland copy  (Tied Top  Census)

3.    Wonder Woman 211  4-5/74 9.6 –> 9.6

4.    Conan the Barbarian 45 12/74 9.6 -> 9.6

5.    House of Mystery 270 7/79 9.6 -> 9.6 MASS copy

6.    Defenders 23 5/75  9.6 -> 9.6

Off by .2 of grade

1.    Swing with Scooter 6 9.2 -> 9.0 (2nd Highest in census)

2.    Unexpected 189 1-2/79 9.6 -> 9.4

3.    Wonder Woman 210 2-3/74 9.6 -> 9.4

4.    Worlds Unknown 6 4/74 9.4 -> 9.2

5.    Dead of Night 8 2/75 9.2 -> 9.0

6.    Dead of Night 10 6/75 9.6 -> 9.4

7.    House of Secrets 112 10/73 9.2 –> 9.0

8.    Secrets of Haunted House 33 2/81 9.6 -> 9.4 Don Rosa copy

9.    Rawhide Kid 98 4/72 9.6 -> 9.4 Oakland copy (2nd Highest census)

10.  Gunhawks 3 2/73 9.6 -> 9.4

11.  Conan the Barbarian 77 8/77 9.8 -> 9.6

Not sure how I missed these.

1.       Unexpected 120 8-9/70 9.6 -> 7.5 (tear on back cover from notes, I am fairly sure it did not have one when I sent it)

2.       Rawhide Kid 97 3/72 9.4 -> 7.0 (Oakland copy, light creasing to cover, light spine stress lines to cover, readers crease full left of front cover) Guess I and dealer missed this one.

I had the same issue with some books I sent to get pressed in May 2021.  I got an email from customer service which had much better results.  I will say that when I was first billed I called and had a CS rep verify that my submission was scanned in before that first cutoff last spring.  That may have expedited the refund.

The email was accounting@cgccomics.com I hope it works out for you.

Express with Label

Rcvd/SFG     24 Mar

GEI               31 MAr

G/QC            15 April

So a label took 2 weeks to go from GEI to G/QC while my modern prescreen with no label went from GEI to GQ/C in 2 days. Did not realize a label added that much to the TAT.

I had a bit of bad timing for my pre-screen shipment. The info was sent to FedEx on the 15th but they did not pick it up before the long weekend, so it is still sitting. Hopefully it will be picked up today so it has a chance of getting to me this weekend. I imagine all of the delivery services are backed up more than usual due to the holiday.

Can't complain at all though since I wasn't expecting this group to be graded for a few more weeks. Even with the long delivery time I am still well ahead of the curve on this one.
