Captain America Comics #2 "Hitler cover"

15 posts in this topic

Hey Guys, I will be selling a few GA’s and Silver books for a good friend of mine. Most all of these books were purchased from Metro back in 95’ -05’ and have not been on the market for a while. Some were probably owned by a couple of you out there.

I’m going through and picking a few for my own collection and will be selling the rest off at some point. I thought I would throw some of them up here first.

As always if not happy I will refund your money within 30 days (less shipping, unless I missed something) so please study the scans and PM me with questions, if your not happy, return it no questions asked or PM me and I will be happy to discuss.

Thanks,

Captain America Comics #2 (Hitler-c)

Apparent 5.5 (graded and pressed on 8-7-12 by Matt Nelson)

Married cover, lightly tanning inside covers, CR/OW pages.

Copy presents very nicely. Asking $1800

Matt Nelson Notes: extra staples added to hold cover to interior. Cover is married from another copy. Red color touch top edge of front cover. small stains inside fc. Because of the married cover, this book cannot get a blue label. It would look much better with a pressing.

This would be a great book to have completely restored since it has CT anyhow.

Why? The CT is not disturbing, it’s minimal, while professionally restoring would mean to alter it. It‘s a great copy, I would keep it as is. Who cares about "blue labels"? I want to read it! :D

Yep, leave as is or if CT can be scraped off do so if it bothers the owner. If there was no other resto, scraping the CT for a blue label would be the thing to do. :)

If you read my notes I mention that the cover has been married so I think at best would be a Green label, unless I'm mistaken, CGC would not give this a Blue.

This might be blasphemy, but I would probably cut the small piece that has the CT. The book would drop to like a 4.0, but it would be unrestored.

Why cut off original paper when you can just scrape off the CT?

yes I read it had a married cover..that's why I said "if there was no other resto" :)
