Disney buys Lucasfilm for $4 billion.

However I must say Disney already stating they are Star Wars Episode 7 for Summer 2015 is just awesome.

If George Lucas isn't involved this just might be a good thing.

I always felt Star Wars is bigger than just having a couple movies and there are so many cool stories post Return of the Jedi that it is only a matter of time before someone will basically over step Lucas. Thank you Disney!

They will pull all the angles I'm guessing---much less constraint than Lucas. You want post Jedi stories? got it. Want new storyline in same universe? got it. Want original theatrical releases? got it. anything that will make money.

God I hope so. :wishluck:

Before i came here,i was in a film forum (hometheaterforum )

There was a civil war between those who accepted the changes and forked over the money and the intelligent people.

To this day,i havent bought the Blurays yet.

And wont either

Not those.

In one post i wrote a little scene with cops trying to stop Lucas from making all the changes. It went like this.

A group of policemen walk towards the front door of Skywalker ranch.

Officer Parsons radios in.

"We've sealed off the perimeter,entering the premises right now.This is a code-2 ."

Officer Lussico

"Whoa look at that Boba Fett statue guys !

Parsons

"Shut up Louie,we're not here as fanboys today, but officers of the law.Anyone know where editing is ?"

Officer Curtwell

"Second floor chief .On your left.Third room.At least that what my brother in law told me."

They run up and swarm the room.

Parsons

"All right Lucas, don't move another finger,ya got any weapons on you ?"

Lussico

"His fingers are the weapons sir."

Parsons

"Right.Ok first, make David Bowie shut up,i've heard that Changes song too many times in the last months.

Curtwell

"Hey look at the monitor fellas,he's making changes to the slave bikini."

Parsons is doing a slow burn.

"What the hell you trying to do Lucas"

George

C'mon guys ,its just a burka.Anyone here good in Microsoft paint ?"

Lussico

"Wait what ? What are you thinking man ?"

George

"Im thinking of the kids. Can i make a phone call ?"

Parsons

"You wanna call your lawyer ? "

George

"No,Richard Edlund.I can't find that burka button."

Here is the big question me thinks. hm

Does Mark Hamill reprise his role as Luke Skywalker?

Meaning old man now or somthing.

Are they going to do Star Wars Dark Empire for the next trilogy?

Starting getting those SW Dark Empires set in CGC 9.8 to resell by 2015. :gossip:

They could do what they did with Jeff Bridges in Tron:Legacy.

De-age the actor's face and put it on a younger actor (shrug)

Now might be a good time to check to see how the figures are pricing at.

I have a whole storage facility full of this carded swag and didn't want to accept pennies

on the dollar for them.

It's a poopy pipe dream that they will sell like they did before, but you never know.

Now I can buy Star Wars on Blu Ray, possibly if they release the original un tinkered with editions.

+1 :wishluck:

Then all I'll need is for someone to release a Blu-Ray of the US theatrical version of Highlander (without that godawful WWII scene) and I'll have all my childhood favorites on Blu-Ray.

My first thought: I hope they release the originals without all that extra .

My second thought: They'll ruin Star Wars even more than Lucas did.

Other than John Carter, I can't think of any property that Disney has not done a great job with.

And that failure was marketing, not film making.

Yup, John Carter was a terrific film.
