Watching every copy of All-Star Western #2 (1st El Diablo) vanish from ebay because.....

Why would that book disappear? It's not the correct character. I guess that would take some investigation though, which most don't bother to do.

Sort of how Man-Thing #3 went up a bit when the Foolkiller mini series got some heat. Different Foolkillers but people wanted the original incarnation of the character

I guess, personally i think people just don't know the difference.

Or they think that putting money towards the first appearance of the character in a book from the bronze age with a Neal Adams cover is a better "investment" than the first appearance of a successor in a book from the modern age where the character appears for a grand total of six issues.

I would agree with that. The movie character cover is pretty bad.

It could also be people who have wanted the book finally pulling the trigger before it gets out of control.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned here but Dreadstar which was scheduled to be a movie is now a TV series. Epic Illustrated #3 started moving yesterday. This was already a decent seller but I think TV vs movie is big news.

Here is the news.

4 copies in 8.0 sold at $39.99 each

I am amazed at how many copies Doug Sulipa has of Epic Illustrated 3. Must be 100-200 copies. At least at the start of the heat with dreadstar a few months ago. Big time buyer and collector of course. He has separate listings for most grades 7.0 + and multiple copies of each, and pictures of each copy. Pretty slick.

The man has earned it for keeping on with what he loves, even though the last 20 years those books were worth nearly nothing and/or impossible to sell.
