Bronze age comics that are heating up on eBay...

2 offers on What if #10 within 10 minutes of listing. Might have to let this one ride a few days. Paid $2.00 for it today :insane: probably

Yeah, you should see what happens. About a year I listed my Marvel Preview 4 on ebay. One guy sent me an offer and then a few minutes later hit the BIN lol

I do that all the time. If I see something that just got listed with a cheap BIN/offer and I am willing to pay full boat, I will throw in an offer to see if it triggers the auto accept. If not, I hit the BIN before someone else can snatch it. Probably looks really strange from the seller 's perspective, but there is a reason for it.

This is one of the reasons I never list with an auto-accept price, unless they are very cheap books.

I remember once I listed a book with auto accept for 40.00 and forgot all about it..

The buyer sent an offer for 30.00, I countered with 45.00 then he offered 40.00 and got it..

I was on the phone with eBay asking them how on earth he got it for 40 while I countered with 45 doh!

So what's the deal, are these incredibly rare in MTUs or does Sparkle City have some magic power? This was the highest one, but they were getting $40+ for a bunch of others. I just don't see this sort of premium for other MJI issues.

Semi-semi-key?

1st US appearance of Capt. Britain.

and then we see him again 3 more times in the next 35 years?

ok, but what about all the $40++ MJI MTUs that have no significance? they seem to sell ok for everyone else, but not like that

What was the best offer that was accepted.

I still kick myself for backing out on the then one and only 9.6 copy on Clink for a whopping $800. This was right after Talia was announced as being in the movie. I had a 9.2 at the time and did not expect my offer to trigger an auto accept so I did not follow through.

I've been looking for a hi-grade Tec 411 for a little while now, but prices have been really inflated in my opinion. I can wait it out.

Same, Will wait it out.. 1600+ for 9.4 :screwy:

You guys might actually do better doing the legwork and finding copies in the wild. lol

I've tried that too.

It's a tough book. For me anyways...

It's a tough book period. But, there are still a lot of BA collections out there, and by it's nature (even with the internet) it is a very personal and private affair. :wishluck:

This is the one book I have never found in 9.4+ in any DC/Batman centric collection I have picked up. The main Batman issues (227, 232, 234, 251, etc.) and Tec issues (395, 400) are easy to land in high grade, but the post-400 Tec books tend to be hit and miss condition wise in the collections. Tec #405 (1st League of Assassins) is another tough book in high grade (9.4+).

Nothing wrong with an 8.0+. But probably a valid observation. :)

Certainly possible to find them in original owner collections, but then they might end up in personal collections. That's how I got my Tec #411 CGC 9.4. Definitely not for sale, and I've turned down several generous offers. ;):acclaim:

So what exactly is the first appearance of an infinity gem? Marvel Premiere 1?

Seems like all of Marvel's phase 3 movies are going to be about gathering these gems.

The first mention of "6 Infinity Gems" is Marvel Team-Up 55. I believe I posted the exact panel maybe 6 months ago in this thread.

I'm not sure where the first individual gem is mentioned but MP 1 is probably as good a guess as any.

First Soul/Infinity Gem: Marvel Premiere 1

First Mention of Multiple Infinity/Soul Gems: Random Issue of Captain Marvel

Here's what Wikipedia states are the 1st appearances/mentions of the gems/stones. I know Wikipedia can be edited, but more than likely whoever posted this did their homework. I found this interesting:
