I hate it when I'm overcharged for a pint of milk in a "convenience" store, but this guy voluntarily bought the shop! Could it be a fake sale that will be reversed quietly but sets some new sales record to hype the price? Not the best market conditions in which to try that sort of stunt. An 8.5 will only set you back 1700 USD and a raw 8.5 even less.

A 9.6 just sold on ComicLink for $7,300.  Still a lot of money, but you can't tell me that a 9.8 is worth 14 times a 9.6.

Based on what i've seen since pandemic started that's perhaps a coin flip at best :)

I think after the whole FTX crypto debacle, the odds of those ridiculous prices we saw over the past year or so are done. If any of those buyers are gonna need to liquidate, they’re going to take a huge hit on their investment…pennies  on the dollar :fear:
