Did anybody see the sale of 3 raw NM copies of BA 12 on Ebay yesterday for less than the seller's ask price of $750? Somebody got a great deal if they turn out to be graded as the seller thinks they will be! EJR

i picked up 2 of them. When they come I'll alert the group. i will scan and post them in the PGM forum and let everyone know.

I was tempted to buy one of those myself but I would rather buy a copy already CGCed! There aren't too many copies of BA 12 already CGCed on Ebay. You are really rolling the dice when you buy a raw copy! I don't think the scans that most sellers provide are all that clear in showing all the defects a raw copy might have. EJR

I agree however, if they aren't high grade then I will return. Seller said mint so we will see. Junkdrawer found a 9.8 raw on EBay and at the current prices a 9.4/9.6 will be worth more than the price I paid.

I think if the book looks like it has a slim shot and you own it between 130 and 175, then you have to submit it. If it comes back a 9.6 you still come out of it ahead. Possibly close to even with a 9.4, but snag that 9.8.....

I think what i paid for on these copies I don't think it was too much of a gamble, we'll see what they look like when they arrive.

Did you guys see this one? Seller has raised his/her price to $2,250 from $1,999 OBO. (And no this is not my listing).

He can jack it up to a million, doesn't mean he will get it, this is just a price no one will pay and he's taking offers on, until he gets a price close to what he likes

When it was $1999, I but in an offer of $1250. No counteroffer; just a straight-up decline. I am wondering if they really are interested in selling or just looking to have the most expensive HQ lot on eBay???

That was a strong offer prior to the $1000 sale. I chalk it up to they honestly dont want to sell. Nobody else does either.

Good luck with the CGC grades! Are you selling them or planning to hold them for a while?

Right now the plan is to keep one and sell one, but it depends on the grades. I'm confident of at least 9.6 on both, possibly 9.8 if the stars align.

trying to build the first worldwide set of BA12 there is about a dozen

Norway and France editions

It's interesting that it looks like the original cover was slightly cropped on these so that the breasts don't come to a point like on the US version.

Thanks ronnie! I dont have confirmation just yet but we believe there to be a South African Batman Adventures 12 that looks exactly like the American version!

Yeah I agree. Unfortunately the time to buy was three months ago not now. The census will explode and nice character notwithstanding I don't see prices holding up once supply comes online to meet demand.

There were 98 universal copies in 9.8 on the cgc census months prior to the $750 sale on eBay about a month ago. Currently still at 98 copies. Just 5 under copies have hit the census over ther last month.

So how about you elaborate on the term " explode". By Jan 1, 2014 how many 9.8s will be added to the census?

Look, I see from your posts above that you have a few copies, good for you, its a great book.

But we've identified some good print run info on this thread and I think there are a ton of copies waiting to be graded once people figure out that its valuable now.

Look at nearmint's thread - he went through the stuff in his storage and found a copy that he thought might even beat 9.8. I'm not saying it will but the point is copies will come out.

You can't look at the census changes in the last month :gossip: ? These things take time?

Forget Jan 1, 2014. What its going to look like on Jan 1 2019 when the info is fully out there (amongst more than just this board?). When people who can't get off their azz to mail a package to cgc (like me) finally do?

I can see the 9.8 census being triple what it is now five years from now (shrug)

I don't see the price exploding with a bunch of extra supply coming on. I don't see it imploding either but I think it will soften a touch off current levels (could increase more in the short term mind you before settling down). Hey I could be wrong but based on the print run info we dug up on this thread.... it just is what it is IMO. This is a book from 1993 not 1963 (shrug) and a sharp price increase will be met with a supply response. If it happened with hg 1970s books like GL 76 why on earth wouldn't it happen with hg 1990s DC.
