Guess the aspect of this thread is to inform the public of the existence of these variants .  Its presence may become among of the "sought after comic books" where others are spending in great amount to obtain.  Just me guessing.:preach:

Anybody remember Mandrake the Magician?

My profile page will give you a clue Rolandtiu :)

Thanks for posting. I've got some Marvel NBS updates to post later - maybe you can see if you can add any more for us :wishluck:

I added two more since my last post (I can't remember which two though without cross-referencing) so we're up to 110 confirmed issues across 26 titles:

nbs110.PNG.c66eaaa228ffe1ce3d781ddb954ef0ef.PNG

The 'no more than seven issues per title' scenario seems to be holding firm. I've added a total of 249 books in the US original date window and speculated that a total of 155 NBS issues might exists, based on the patterns observed:

nbs110b.thumb.PNG.ae495945036c85b9b6722d386b8185dc.PNG

Where the titles have seven consecutive monthly issues (in line with the US original dates), a lot of the main titles seem to fit the date pattern below:

So FF #169 could exist, as could Hulk #198. Note both missing issues are for the same month though. Coincidence? And somebody either didn't like the cover to FF #165, or they picked the wrong one to reprint. Or #165 does exist, and FF has eight NBS issues. Or something else.

Dive in, anyone, if you find any that are not yet on the list... :)

A seller sent me a video of NBS reprints.  I'm not sure if these ones are on your list already

Have you added the 2 Shogun Warriors in the NBS Marvel list?

I have those down as Alemars, not NBS, from 1979 - am I right on that?

Brilliant! :headbang:

Only #192 missing if the title fits the pattern:

@rolandtiu's Marvel Premier #30 brings us up to 115:

And it sits neatly in the 'monthly issue' date block:

I've added each confirmed book to the spreadsheet as a P1.75 for the time being, as that seems to be the standard price, when a price is in evidence.

Mostly, the NBS books are printed with a blank price area - a few are blacked out - and any price is stamped, presumably by hand, and usually in the format on our Marvel Premiere #30:

The only different stamped price I've captured so far is this one at what looks like P1.80:

Given that the vast majority are priced at P1.75, I wonder why they left the price box blank for later stamping and did not just print the price?

That's an interesting observation. Yes, majority of them seem to be 1.75 which may be the original price they were selling these. But I remember early 80s they were still selling some of these same comics with a 1.95 and 2.95 in it and some were on sale with a 1.00 written there.  In some cases where there was already a previous stamp or writing, they will put a price sticker over it.

Great research Steve and others!

It's just image gathering and issue plotting really, Reggie. Fun though, to watch the patterns develop.

I have not yet researched the source material for this, but how about a variant with a variant?  These two have the same title, same issue number, and generally the same content (different advertising and page count).  I bought the price sticker one thinking I already had a copy...
