‘Batman v Superman’ is literally the biggest Blu-ray release of all time

According to Inside CI, a UK website dedicated to custom home theater solutions, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be the first 4K Blu-ray disc to be released on a 100GB triple layer disc by a major studio. All of the extra space is needed to accommodate the 3 hour version of the movie in glorious 4K Ultra HD resolution.

By the way, Gal Gadot looks amazing on that cover picture.

Before the 6/28 digital release and the 7/19 Blu-Ray release, there will be an Ultimate Edition theater release on 6/27 across limited theaters.

BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Ultimate Cut Is Coming To Theaters For One Night Only

Warner Bros. has announced today that they're bringing Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice back to the big screen for one night only later this month. However, it won't be the regular version of the divisive DC Comics adaptation; instead, they'll be showing off the highly anticipated R-Rated Ultimate Cut (which has been receiving rave reviews from those who saw a leaked version a few weeks back).

A message initially sent out on the DC All Access app reads, "As a thank you to all of the fans, Zack and the filmmakers would like to invite you to a special theatrical screening of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition." As this is a FREE event for fans taking place on June 27th, Warner Bros. isn't going to get a box office boost which will help push the movie past the $1 billion mark.

Zack Snyder Reveals Why He Released The BATMAN V SUPERMAN "Communion" Scene

It had never been done before. Releasing a scene that wasn't in the original theatrical cut just days after the film's world premiere. Warner Bros. and director Zack Snyder did something never seen before when they decided to release the Communion scene from the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Cut, featuring Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor communicating with the now known Justice League villain, Steppenwolf. Why do such a thing?

Well, according to Comic Book Resources, Snyder just wanted to try something new. "I thought, 'Oh, that would be a cool after-credits sequence.' But then I was like, 'I don't know, can I do that?' Because Marvel does that. 'Is that a thing?' So we were like, 'Oh! Well, maybe there's another way to do it.'"
