Boba
I think I posted this when I got it raw from Metro - but here it is in the slab after it was graded. I thought it was a sure-bet to grade 6.0 + but CGC thought otherwise. Whatever, I'm happy with it
Boba
Another raw book I may have posted previously, this was bought as a VF+ I believe from a board member who's a dealer. I was shocked at the grade CGC gave it and tempted to order the notes - but I decided I like it fine and I'm not giving CGC any more money to find out what they saw. Sam I am
2 great books, Boba. I have been on both sides of the CGC mystery grading. Win some lose some. At least neither got a purple label.
Boba
Yeah, I'm kind of over worrying too much about it. Too many books to chase, I can't be concerned that every book isn't a nose-bleed grade (or not even close )
BPLZ
Don/Maggie Showcase are very difficult to win. I have been outbig (again ) in all last auctions. The only issue which was sold at a correct price was #54. I only hope boba's the happy winner of this one ! Totally forgot to bid - remembered at 11:15 Oh well . . . Too bad ! I was sure it was you ! Well, I am sure a better one is waiting for you If by saying better you mean cheaper - right on I'm a cheap sonavagun who'd be happy with a 7+/- copy. I don't have the budgets to buy nosebleed grades all the time, But I do appreciate you rooting for me to win it. I guess I must've known it'd go high. Prolly why I "forgot" to bid. Subconsciously being budget conscious. All those Thompsons seemed to. I actually snagged the #52 - no one bid on it. My copy is a 6.0 I believe - its an upgrade even with the staple pop. So I will soon have at least 1 Thompson ped in my set. That's an important lesson : being budget conscious ! I should be more and I'd better stop wasting my money buying comics to offer my wife better holidays ! I hope my wife will not read this post ! BPLZ
That is still a quality copy Boba, and an odd label to make it a Green. So here are the books I won last night. All I need now is a nice 37 to have a complete Metal Men run. Wonderful books Sam ! Tried to bid on them but they were far beyond my max bid. 37 remains hard to find, the last 9.2 and 9.0 were sold for insane prices...
BPLZ
I managed to pick 3 Don/Maggie's last night. 39,40, and 46. They finished right at my tapout point, so I got pretty lucky. I'll post the scans tonight. I saw them this morning - they did get up there. My one Don/Maggie pedigree win from last weeks Sunday auction. Unlike the ones you got, this came off of the El-Cheapo rack Post your wins Sam, so we can all ogle 'em. 'specially the Metal Men's Great book boba. 52 is so scarce that a 9.2 is a nice win even green label ! Don/Maggie will be a wonderful pedigree for showcase, I will post pedigree stats updated when I come back from holidays.

AlexanderM
Boba, great run of books. Early Showcase are impossible to find in grade, they just never come up for sale. I have a #1 and #2 I can contribute...... http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=11554&GSub=887 http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=11556&GSub=894 Yes, Those are beauts! Didn't you recently pick up a #34? Thanks. Yes, I did just get a 34..... Wow.. My favorite of the Showcase books. Runner up would between be the hawkman one or second Atom. AlexanderM
Talk about reasonably priced keys - picked this sweet copy off of Comiclink for a song. Looks a lot nicer than a 6.0 to me. Back cover looks nice too - EXCEPT for that confound COMICLINK sticker And 30! And 60...btw just as surprising as GOTG success is..just as thought provoking is the going out of favor of the Spectre. ..Once one of the top characters in the hobby. Could he get a revival? Sam I am
After adding my Donn / Maggie purchases to my registry set, I finally cracked the 60k point barrier. It's a loooong road to 70k.
