Dr. Love
Marvel continues on from there, transitioning to Atlas, until #76 in June, 1960. I don't have that issue, but I have the one right before it. Life sometimes apparently travels in a circle. If that's true for the comic world, here's proof. Recognize the pencils on this book? The King, inked by Colletta. Just getting warmed up for their great collaboration, of which much has been written. Dr. Love
So I'll leave you with two covers that speak to me. The first reminds me of my parents. Don't ask me why. It doesn't look like them, and they didn't have this kind of relationship. Maybe it's what I wanted their relationship to be. They're both gone now, many many years ago. Dr. Love
And this one is my wife Vicki's favorite book. It makes her happy, and I can see why. Some of Colletta's work was , for sure, but some of it was just inspired. And so I say, in the immortal words of Ralph Kramden: Baby, you're the greatest. EC ed
To all the women in our lives. I became determined that I would gather the finest examples of this work I could get, and that I would persist till I reached the end of the romance line or the end of the dollars I could spend on this. That this thing that belonged to them, to the women, wouldn't pass unnoticed into the night, unvalued, uncared for. I would collect it into one place and caretake it...for them. I love it. rjpb
While I'm not much of a photo cover fan, the Marvel /Timely romance ones are far more entertaining than most of the competition's.
