Yes I would say we are definitely in the 800-900+ range for the time being. And the eBay auctions are starting to dry up a bit. It will be interesting to see if people start clicking any of those $995 buy it nows.

800-900?? There are multiple copies up for sale on these boards that are not selling at less than $800. This book is going to settle under $700 within the month.

Negative ghostrider. These boards are not the overall perception of the market. Sticking with $825-850. I feel like there will be multiple sales in the 1k range by movie release.

Also there is no 10 percent ebay vig on these boards. Copies have been selling for 775-800 on here even. On ebay that would equate to about 850 with the same net to the seller.

Let's say you had your choice of a NM #98 or a Ms. Marvel #1, both CGC in the same (high) grade. Which would you choose? Assume that you're not allowed to flip it immediately, and have to hold for at least a year or two.

 

Hands down Ms. Marvel #1. Even going by your variables, a year or two is when the Ms. Marvel books are going to completely dissapear, as she will have her own movie by then.

 

The head scratching part for all of this NM 98 price jump is that a year ago you could have bought all of the NM 98 CGC 9.8s you wanted for at most a couple hundred bucks each, and raws for maybe $20, knowing that the moment Marvel announced the GotG movie, thats when they were going to take seriously the development and marketing of second tier characters, to a degree to make money off of it. The movie wasnt a matter of if, it was a matter of when, so if you don't 3 or 4 NM 98 CGC 9.8s around at this point, its your own fault.

 

Instead alot of people chose to spend that cash on chasing the next walking dead image book (and bought them CGC'd no less), which has resulted in those countless sad, pathetic sales threads on these boards of folks trying to get out from under all those books that sucked up all their cash.

We're a bunch of cheapasses here. Stuff routinely sits on the boards unsold and then fetches more money on ebay.
