I was reading the Flash Omnibus copy of #106 and the thought struck me why didn't they give Grodd long sideburns like the original and a lot of subsequent renditions. It would have added an element identifying him from a common gigantic ape. Just a thought . . . Flash106-16_zpsfgdrvfrn.jpg

My son says he's an amazing actor with acclaimed performances in independent films so what do I know (shrug)

After the Ant-Man opening, there were a bunch of articles citing how it hadn't opened up as big as Marvel/Disney wanted. They went on to say that it was because he was a "C" level character and then concluded by indicating that Marvel had to watch it's step because there's essentially "so much money on the line" and that these corporations were basically depending on these movies to be huge blockbusters.

Anyway, that last sentiment: there's ALOT of money riding on success coupled with a hyper-observant stance on what Marvel is doing tells me that SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE up in the corporate chain thought that Ezra Miller has "IT".....something that we're apparently not aware of that makes him an ideal Flash. Somebody must have waded through the inane, rambling, incoherent persona that he projects and got to the inner core that they felt was viable.

They had to know that he HAS to be able to carry his own movie, or at least hold his own. If he screens poorly, then you can flush marketing related to him down the toilet. Lets face it: fans have to love and not just LIKE the character when it's portrayed.....like they did on the WB. There's NO way they can ignore that success and put a dud up on the big screen.

Hopefully someone who has better insight than I made that casting decision, and no matter how sketchy it appears currently, hopefully their call will be vindicated in the end product.

the point with ACTORS, is that on the screen/stage, they can often be someone COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from what they present themselves as in real life. Admittedly, not every actor/actress has the skillset to be extremely diverse, and not EVERY casting decision is a winner, but many actors CAN be something COMPLETELY different.

Rooney Mara comes to mind, as she can be a LOT of different things and BECOME the character, as does Josephe Gordon Levitt or Leo Dicaprio. Al Pacino strikes me as being Al Pacino all the time, at least at this stage in his career, regardless of the role (which is fine too). Just a matter of what you're trying to get out of the character.

I agree Revat....that's an actor's job if they do it correctly.

Yep, Al Pacino is pretty much the same character in every film (except the Godfather).

Another actor that seems to always be the same guy is Joe Pesci. Just saw Casino again last night after many years.....he's the same guy he was in Goodfellas...lol. It could have been a sequel for all I knew. :)

Uh-oh....THE SUIT from the future timeline!!!!

It's getting closer to looking like the Scarlet Speedster we know. I like the change.

I guess they can lose the mesh bodice once Grant develops the washboard stomach.
