The Prince of the Silver Age

66 posts in this topic

In terms of value, in today's market, AF #15 is clearly the King of the Silver Age.

Which book do you think is the next most valuable today, across most grades?

In my opinion, I think it has to be between Hulk #1 and Showcase #4.

Here are my estimated ballpark FMVs for your average looking book in CGC grades of 2.0, 4.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0+:

Hulk 1 2.0: $5K

Showcase 4 2.0: $4K

Hulk 1 4.0: $8K

Showcase 4 4.0: $8K

Hulk 1 6.0: $15K

Showcase 4 6.0: $14K

Hulk 1 7.0: $26K

Showcase 4 7.0: $25K

Hulk 1 8.0+: ?

Showcase 4 8.0+: ?

Your opinions as to FMV for grades of 2.0 through 7.0 may differ a bit, but I don't think I'm too far off. Too hard for me to predict in grades of 8.0+

Based on my analysis above, it appears as though Hulk 1 and Showcase 4 are currently running neck and neck as the runner up to AF #15 in terms of FMV today.

What do you think?

TALES OF SUSPENSE # 39.

IRON MAN is the prince that will eventually dethrone the amazing king!

I was thinking the same thing. What is the next Mega key that will so the same thing that the Hulk #1 is doing? FF #1, TOS #39 and JIM #83 are all in the position to run.

I would think all three could potentially do well. I believe FF #1 and JIM #83 will show greater gains overall though as TOS #39 has already had lots of exposure in my opinion.

If they ever make a decent FF movie, it will jump in a big way.

After recent heavy shilling and extreme hype after a single high sale.. Hulk 1 should currently be ahead.

:baiting:

No shilling on hulk. The demand is real and crossing multiple auction houses and platforms, these boards, not to mention conventions and independent dealer websites. (thumbs u
