New WONDER WOMAN Set Pics Featuring Samantha Jo/Amazonian Army

Principal photography may have wrapped for Patty Jenkins' WONDER WOMAN, however that doesn't mean the comic book movie is done shooting, and new set pics have emerged online, featuring an Amazonian army and a whole bunch of green screen.

It hasn't been confirmed yet, but it looks like one of the actresses in the photos below, which were posted on the Kitana Fan Facebook page, is martial artist and stuntwoman Samantha Jo (Mortal Kombat: Legacy, MAN OF STEEL), and the popular speculation is that she's playing Euboea, who in the comics is one of Wonder Woman's closest friends.

Could We See A Wonder Woman Trailer At Comic Con?

When it comes to Wonder Woman, perhaps there's no bigger fan of the heroine than DC Entertainment itself. On the heel’s of the Amazonian’s 75th birthday, the company has spoken openly about its desire to honor Wonder Woman. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, DC Entertainment President Diane Nelson praised the character’s resurgence by saying that, “there’s no better time than now,” to introduce moviegoers to Wonder Woman.

Diane Nelsen went on to speak specifically about the upcoming Wonder Woman film which wrapped earlier this year as she said the movie, “will have its own tone and look – it's beautiful. There is humor in it, there is real emotion in Diana's journey in discovering the complexity of man."

And, with DC Entertainment now prepping for SDCC, it would make perfect sense for the company to tease fans with a trailer for the film. Wonder Woman finished filming in Europe this spring, so the studio undoubtedly has enough content that they could bring to fans.

How far Wonder Woman has come since her first live production, which was produced even before the Cathy Lee Crosby pilot.

Wonder Woman: An Early Attempt!

Years before Lynda Carter donned the red, white and blue garb of Wonder Woman this four minute “pre-pilot” was produced. Starring Ellie Wood Walker as Diana Prince and Wonder Woman (as well as Linda Harrison as Wonder Woman) the presentation was crafted as a comedy, with slapstick humor and not much else. It was produced by William Dozier, the man behind Batman and The Green Hornet. But no pilot was ever produced, let alone sold. The presentation remains simply as a curio for Wonder Women aficionados.

A series based on Wonder Woman was indeed shopped to advertisers and/or the networks (likely ABC, at least) by Dozier prior to the start of the 1967-1968 season. Rather than producing a pilot episode, however, Dozier opted to film just a portion of a pilot -script written by Stan Hart and Larry Siegel (both of whom wrote for MAD magazine and would later write for The Carol Burnett Show). According to Les Daniels, author of Wonder Woman: The Complete History, the 41-page -script dealt with computer sabotage. The filmed section included “additional gags” not found in the Hart/Siegel -script (which was titled “Who’s Afraid of Diana Prince?”.

Thank goodness this never happened!

First Official Synopsis For WONDER WOMAN Released; Screenplay Was Penned By Allan Heinberg & Geoff Johns

On Saturday, July 23, at 11:30 a.m., Warner Bros. Pictures will begin their Hall H presentation. The official press release promises awesome new content for Suicide Squad, The LEGO Batman Movie, Kong: Skull Island, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Wonder Woman!

One of the notable things found in the press release was the first official synopsis for Patty Jenkin's Wonder Woman. It reveals that Patty Jenkins directed the film from a story by Zack Synder & Allan Heinberg, and a screenplay written by Heinberg and Geoff Johns.

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Diana Prince Goes Off To War For The First Time In New WONDER WOMAN Stills

Entertainment Weekly's upcoming Comic-Con issue provides glimpses of Gal Gadot in her standalone movie. As you can see from the stills below, Diana's Wonder Woman outfit looks quite different from when she made her debut in Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman. That's probably because this will be the first time Diana goes out into the world as Wonder Woman, and she hasn't had the chance to break it in with a couple of battles.

The director spoke to Entertainment Weekly about her passion for the project, revealing that Wonder Woman is the one film she's been wanting to make her entire life, and that she even met with Warner Bros. back in 2005 about possibly helming a superhero film, but had to put things on hold due to her pregnancy.

Ok, I have to admit I was not convinced when they announced Gal as Wonder Woman that she could pull it off. However after seeing what she did in BvS and now these photos, yeah I think she will make a fine Wonder Woman.
