I've been thinking the same thing. At this point, you would assume two years later Marvel could clearly claim Elektra now comes back into the fold.

You are most probably right. Marvel is trying to time this so it is a clean claim of ownership. That makes a lot of sense.

It's almost surprising that Fox doesn't have the rights to the inhumans as at the time that Fox bought the film rights to FF, the inhumans were primarily associated with the FF unlike Black Panther who was introduced in the FF but became associated with the Avengers.

 

 

The Black Panther example is sort of like how Kingpin became associated with Daredevil instead of being included in the deal with Sony along with the Spiderman rights.

Daredevil was released 2003. I believe the movie rights reverted back to Marvel last October. Electra was released in 2005, so one would assume the movie rights will revert back to Marvel in 2015. All just assumption work though

You would appear to be going down the right path. Daredevil reverted around April 2013. So that would be ten years after last movie distribution.

 

So I wonder if like Marvel is doing what it can to interfere with Fox's movie success (if the behind-the-scenes rumors are true), if Fox will do something to hold Elektra by 2015. I'm not sure how they would pull it off.

Can Marvel plagiarize it's own story lines for their in house movies? Stay with me for a second. Fox has the rights to Silver Surfer and Galactus. Marvel wanted them back at one point and was willing to cede Daredevil to Fox in order to make that happen. Obviously they really wanted Galactus for a big even on Earth and have the Avengers, not the FF, battle 'Big Purple.' The Silver Surfer would have probably met up with the Guardians of the Galaxy at some point then made his way to Earth to battle Galactus along with the Avengers. Obviously that is speculation.

 

That obviously did not happen. But how about this...

 

"Nowhere" is present in Guardians of the Galaxy. That is a big Celestial head that they have as a base. Would Marvel be allowed to replay FF48 49 and 50 swapping in the Avengers for the FF and the Celestials for Galactus?

So imagine how long the wait for a Marvel X-Men, Spider-Man or FF movie would be from now? At least 10 to 15 years. 2030?

So if Sony or Fox stopped making X-Men and Spider-Man movies today we would be in for at least a decade wait for Marvel to make them.

Next question...

 

There is a lot of talk in regards to having a Spider-man universe centered movie without it's main protagonist of Spider-man. Do we "think" or "know" of any other Marvel Heroes that might be under Sony's banner?

 

Keep in mind that most of these are 'C' and 'D' list characters at best. They all got their start in Amazing Spider-man.

 

Black Cat (Confirmed as Sony's as initially they were going to use her)

Cardiac

Man Wolf

Morbius

Prowler

Puma

Rocket Racer

Scarlet Spider

Silver Sable

 

 

If I have to pick who I think is most marketable for a movie, I would have to go with incorporating some type of monsters theme with Morbius and Man Wolf but I would think that a spinoff clone saga of Scarlet Spider could see the light of day. The obstacles would be trying not to confuse the general public about a guy that looks like Spider-man but isn't Spider-man. However... making Venom an anti-hero pursued by Silver Sable and company could be interesting. Sony could turn Venom into their own version of the Hulk.

Not for anything, but Spider-man is not a global character in so far as the Avengers are defined as the protectors of our world. If Marvel has the television rights to Spider-man then why couldn't they offer a Spider-man show on Netflix? Spider-man is traditionally a NYC based superhero, as is Daredevil and the Punisher.

 

Raise the middle finger to Sony and interject him on TV once in awhile. At the very LEAST, have him swing by Luke Cage in the distance and have Cage ask Murdock, "What's that?" with Murdock replying, "Nothing that important... for now."

 

Fan boys go wild.

This is an interesting quote on the Elektra rights.

 

I think we have the rights to Elektra. So that is clean and simple. I think.

I hope he is right on Elektra. But with Kingpin being in the Netflix show for sure, it may be the other way around since 2015 is when the Elektra rights would run out.
