AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR (May-2018)

There was an article from a few months back that called out Feige sharing the combined budget for Avengers III and IV was $1B.

But that has to be for everything involved in making and marketing two huge movies. There is no way they would invest $500MM/each just in production.

Do ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ & ‘Avengers 4’ Have A Combined $1 Billion Budget?

Quote

At a recent African American Film Critics Association luncheon (via Atlanta Business Chronicle), Pinewood Studios co-owner Dan Cathy mentioned that a movie is filming at Pinewood Atlanta Studios that has a $1 billion production budget. Cathy wouldn’t name the movie, but, but given that Disney has rented out most of the facility for the next year for Avengers: Infinity War and the yet-to-be-titled sequel (Avengers 4). I can’t imagine he was talking about any other production shooting in Atlanta or anywhere else in the world. I also assume that the budget he is quoting is for both films, which are shooting together over the next 9 or 10 months.

Still, a $500 million budget per film is far above the previously recorded estimates. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides holds the record for the biggest budget on a single movie with an estimated cost of $378.5 million, while The Hobbit movie trilogy (which shot back-to-back, similar to what Marvel is doing) ranks at #1 with around $745 million before tax rebates. The $1 billion budget figure would probably also be before tax breaks. Georgia currently offers Hollywood productions a 30% tax break on movies shot in the state.

In comparison, Avengers: Age of Ultron has a reported production budget of $250 million (similar to Warner Bros’ Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice). So it’s hard to believe that Avengers: Infinity War would theoretically double that cost.

One of the big factors on these huge mega blockbuster films is the salaries of the big stars. The Avengers cast includes the world’s highest-paid actor, Robert Downey Jr., who received an estimated $20 million upfront for Age of Ultron, and $40 million for Captain America: Civil War, but there have been newspaper reports that Downey is making around $200 million for both of the upcoming Avengers films. Of course, that report was never substantiated, as most of these estimated production budgets are never confirmed by the studios until reporting losses, and even then studio accounting is notoriously dubious.

‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Set Photos Show off Iron Man’s New Armor

LjfaQ4P.jpg

Quote

We’ll see Iron Man fly alongside a web-slinging Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and he’ll have yet another new suit for that movie as well. If the Mark XLVI was the armor that appeared in Captain America: Civil War, and if the new Hot Toys figure showing off the Sony movie’s Mark XLVII armor is legit (and it should be since it’s officially licensed), then the new Iron Man armor that shows up in these recent Avengers: Infinity War set photos should be the Mark XLVIII at the very least.

In addition to Downey Jr., the photos also happen to show off Benedict Cumberbatch decked out as Doctor Strange, Benedict Wong along for the ride as Wong, and Mark Ruffalo looking very human as Bruce Banner. You can catch them all in Avengers: Infinity War when it opens May 4, 2018.

'Avengers: Infinity War' - First Full Look at Thanos Revealed at D23

Marvel fans, prepare yourselves for one serious geek-out. D23 is going down in Anaheim, and one of its Marvel booths has your first full look at Thanos from Avengers: Infinity War.

As you can see in the tweet, Thanos looks different in this life-sized statue than fans have seen before in the MCU. The character is notably missing his golden headgear as the replica shows of Thanos’ bald head. The character is also shown wearing some informal clothes as his full body armor is stripped to just a chest-plate and pants.

Spider-Sense And More - This AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Footage Description Will Blow Your Mind

Quote

Marvel showed a trailer for Avengers: Infinity War at the D23 Expo today and while it's not been released online (and probably won't be), we do have a lengthy description courtesy of io9 and Marvel's Agent M. Needless to say, it sounds absolutely incredible and even bigger and better than we initially thought. Featuring nearly every Marvel character ever, there are tonnes of major reveals here.

The Hulkbuster armor returns, Black Panther and Winter Soldier defend Wakanda side-by-side and Thanos brings down an entire planet (or possibly even Earth's Moon) on Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Yowza.  I hope they show this again at SDCC, then release it for everyone to see!  I will reiterate that I have great faith in this project due to the team controlling it, especially the directors and writers.  Their work on 'Winter Soldier' and 'Civil War' was top-notch.
