I won the Alex Raymond Flash Gordon Sunday Comic Strip Panel from 1935. Was the underbidder on HA over 2 years ago on the same piece but it went for alot less than the previous hammer.

To me, the biggest surprise of today's auction is the Williamson Secret Agent Corrigan daily for $6K. That's an INSANE price for a Corrigan daily.

$6K for a dinosaur. You can't even tell if Corrigan is in the panel, I think thats him in small silhouette.

 

 

The other Williamson 6 pager from Creeper #1 went for $31K. WOW $5K a page.

To me, the biggest surprise of today's auction is the Williamson Secret Agent Corrigan daily for $6K. That's an INSANE price for a Corrigan daily.

Again, to my eye, one of the best possible Williamson jobs (thanks Krenkel!). But I agree it's a healthy number!

Williamson draws dinosaurs better than he draws women, so it makes sense to me!

But it went for more than the Flash Gordon #5 splash page 1 also by Williamson. The Flash was alot nicer, great inks and in my book Flash by Al always trumps his Corrigan.

We're in European now. IMHO, it's a lackluster selection. I hope poor results doesn't discourage HA or European sellers.

It is not the best. Better examples exist in private collections.
