I'm sure GAtor would never sandbag any of y'all into thinking he was out, when he wasn't really.

The fact that there are usually 8-12 high grade copies of each issue, mostly all in high grade reduces the premium. Page quality isn't anywhere near as good as Church books, either. Those negatives are offset somewhat by the utterly cool covers and material between the covers.

This.

Speaking of which, I was happy to get this one as my lone win of the day:

That Phantom Stranger #1 CGC 9.4 was an interesting book. I think the buyer got a nice deal on that one, considering the grade (highest graded) and scarcity of the issue. The Wonder Woman #6 was a surprise, seeing it sell as low as it did. Tough book.

I'm also in the camp that thinks the Gaines File copies, and in particular the highest graded copies, sell below what we think they should really be going for. Some great books. :cloud9:

supes1 certainly didn't go cheap this time around. 33k for a C-3 2.5

I stopped at $23k. It looks like it can be unrestored.

Removing the piece added and the CT looks like it would be quite simple. The harder part would be removing the tear and spine split seals. Given that the book is already a 2.5, what would it grade at with the restoration removed? .5? 1.0?
