Sad day for the comic world. :(

Thank you for the interior comic pages. (thumbs u

I especially loved some of the covers "Lew" did on Amazing Man (or was it Sam??). I get them confused sometimes. (shrug)

I'm glad he appeared to live a long life and I wonder if he realized how much Centaur fans loved and appreciated his work. hm

He will be missed by Centaur fans.

Lou was responsible for the Amazing Man covers. He also illustrated the US editions of the children's Pippi Longstocking series.

On the penultimate page, the Shark does not fall to the monster / madman but rather fakes loss. We have to presume that while laying on the operating table, he recharges his psychic energy for that one final and surprise mental attack that leads the monster to cast the Shark out. Tenuous but the elements are in the story.

For all of you Centaur fans: :(

"Louis Glanzman (brother of Sam Glanzman) passed away last Sunday, July 7, around 2 o'clock in the afternoon. He was 91 years old." "Lou was the one who got Sam into doing comic books was back in the Golden Age. They both, at one time, had stories in the same issues of Amazing-Man Comics. Lou would sign some of his work "Lew Glanz" while Sam signed his "Sam Decker.""

This is a Aman recreation that Louis S. did for me. He was a re-known artist doing covers for Time etc. He did a fantastic job on this Aman cover. The colors are "amazing"...It was a trick finding him and them convincing him to do this commission. He was totally gracious....jb

And why doesn't this book get more love outside of the mini-hobby of Centaur collectors? You would think the first Everett artwork would get more love from "mainstream" collectors. Might this be a breakout book someday? hm

When I parted with the book, I didn't realize that the unsightly miscut is intrinsic to this issue.

Also, I think it would be much more popular if it was the first Everett cover and story (that honor goes to AMF 1#2).

Still, your point is a valid one Tom - a first issue Centaur sporting an icon's artistic debut, what's not to like? (shrug)
